We were delighted to be invited for a special family birthday lunch at Chifan in July. Wow! What a fabulous meal and time we had. Starting with champagne we enjoyed the most delicious starters of perfectly cooked fresh squid, pork and vegetable rolls and marinated chicken wings before moving on to Chinese duck pancakes. The pancakes were lightly steamed and the duck perfectly prepared and served. Our main courses were fragrantly spiced tender lamb with vegetables; steamed pea shoots, duck breast meat with crispy skin ( which had the most gorgeous flavours); green beans with minced pork and small cubes of sweet and sour pork with shaped vegetables.
Everything served to us by the lovely Jessica was utterly delicious. Who looked after us all so beautifully.
It?s been a long time since I?ve eaten such a deliciously fresh and authentic Cantonese meal where the spices and flavours had been especially selected with care.
Huge thanks to my cousin and his lovely wife for inviting us to join them for this outstanding Chinese feast. Well worth the 4 hour drive to Dorking from north Devon.
We will be looking for any small excuse to revisit soon!

I came for a late birthday meal last week for the first time and Chifan did not disappoint. The service was exceptionally quick, the food was amazing and staff were so friendly! Definitely will be returning and I think my friend group have found our new go too all you can eat.

Birthday meal at the all you can eat. Waitress was so helpful and friendly. Starters were larger portions than we expected, great value for the money. Ordered the mains carefully, came out quickly, hot and good quality, full of flavour. Waitess surprised us at the end with a lemon cake and candle. A birthday meal made special by food and waitress. Thank you ?

We had the all you can eat at £26 a head.
Waitress and food service was very quick but when I asked how the all you eat work she slightly rude and dismissive telling me it should be easy to understand. Rude?
Staters were not great at all, flat small prawn toast, Ribs just fat, prawn crackers old.
Some of the mains had tasty sauce but just not the best quality of meat, we send back the lamb in black pepper sauce as so chewy and felt like they chose to give you the worst bits of meat for the all you can eat customer, all she could say rudely was ?well it?s our most popular dish no one complains? obviously it?s popular its normally one of my favourite too but it was still terrible !!! .

Take away was warm when arrived, portion size was a joke for price, small containers not even full no way worth the money, will not be using again.

In Dorking for a show at theatre next door. Arrived without reservation but was welcomed and a table was available. Al la carte menu available but also an all you can eat menu also on offer. We opted for the later. Order from starter menu as much and many times as you wish then move onto main courses. Food was all cooked fresh, small portions but you can reorder more. Excellent food and service to match. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Dined at Chifan for the first time since moving to Dorking recently and won?t go back. The food was ok and came out quite fast, however, the atmosphere is so unfriendly it made us feel uncomfortable. There were 3 staff members serving food & drink. One manager and two younger staff, the manager was clearly very stressed and was doing mostly everything themselves. The way the manager spoke to the young waiters was rude & uncomfortable for others to hear and they were clearly not enjoying being spoken to like that. Anything they attempted to do they were told they were doing it wrong or they were too slow.
There was no music on in the restaurant and it was quite cold.
I didn?t find the dining experience relaxing and will be going back to the new fountain garden in Dorking which is far superior next time I fancy this type of food.

Delivery charge extremely high and not clearly noted in leaflet. Please be aware of additional costs for orders in addition to delivery charges in top of that which they decide on even if you're within metres outside the '3 mile radius' which are very high! Women taking orders also very rude and abrupt, so not great service either.

Food was delicious and served quickly. Staff super friendly. A la carte and buffet options. They happily tweaked my dishes due to dietary requirements.
