I recently visited the Cricketers with my family and was extremely disappointed with the service. The bar area was completely empty, and the restaurant was only half full, yet we were turned away by what appeared to be a manager, who claimed they were only taking bookings (awful body language and tone). I checked their website immediately afterward and found there were plenty of tables available. It seemed like management was just being lazy and didn?t want to accommodate us, so we took our business elsewhere. Definitely won't be returning.

Hi, I ordered a mix grill and instead I received 3 pieces of reheated meat. It's disgusting. I think it was the worst investment ever made, it should be avoided!

Food was very poor steak tasted like road kill chips where just soaked in fat this was a mix girll with upgraded steak I'd hate to know what the standard steak was like .
Kids meals was just as bad got about 8 beans as a side again chips was shocking and the smothered chicken looked terrible.
I would avoid this place at all costs considering it was £75 for 2 mains and 2 kids meals and 3 drinks well over priced the quality was I'd say worth £20 at best .
Staff have no clue and the chef needs the sack and work at McDonald's which is actually better quality and cheaper.
Waste of money.

Worst food we have ever had, in fact I?ve spent the car ride home trying to not be sick! Told to sit in bar as had not booked, but no one else was even in the place when we arrived! Ordered 2 surf and turf, upgraded to fillet steak. Well, it was like lumps of leather, chips were dry, calamari was cooked in what seems to be dirty old oil and the prawns were awful! The kids meals came out, had different types sausages on one plate and the beans were dried out. We were refunded but still the worst experience I can honestly say I?ve ever had. £80 for 2 adults and 2 children and we all left hungry and feeling sick.

As we didn't book a table we had to sit in the bar area which was completely understandable. Before we even finished ordering at the bar, someone else's food was put on our table. There were only 2 other tables in the bar that had someone sitting on.
We had ordered 3 kids meal with 2 mini corn on the cob, there was only 1 tiny corn on the cob on each plate. We queried this with the waiter and he was told "just give them 2 more". Had to correct him it was 3 kids meal ordered so 3 more.
The food was disgusting, like they used old oil for the battered fish and it wasore chewy than crispy. The loaded nachos portion was tiny and no flavour if you got one with no cheese. The cucumbers in the veg sticks were warm. The waiter was so rude as it seemed we were putting him out by asking for things that was wrong or not provided like sauces.
Will never return to this place!

Stopped by for much needed food & rest on our journey back home.It is conveniently located on a main road.There's a small Premier Inn right next to it & a Cricket ground behind.

I haven?t eaten here for a while, but chose to use the Meercat 25% discount voucher on a Sunday late afternoon.
It was a very underwhelming experience with pleasant staff going through the motions, with one team member on her phone while tables had not been cleared. Simple needs such as not serving sugar with coffee. When asked, two packets were proudly presented even though I was asked for my sugar preference.
The food was OK but nothing special while the decor is exhausted and needs freshening up.
I used to run nationwide ?Mystery Shopper? campaigns so I have a fair understanding of the pressures faced in restaurants. This one smacked of no real leadership and motivation.
It?s a pity when staff feel they?re on their game when they?ve actually slipped into poor habits.
Some refresher trading and a re-look at their mission wouldn?t hurt.

We were given a warm welcome and quickly seated. Both Becca and Lee gave us excellent friendly service and werea credit to your company. The food was hot and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you.

Where do I begin? Friday 10-5-24 roughly about 21:45 the girl behind the bar needs disciplinary action taken towards her, I?ve never experienced such rude and obnoxious behaviour by a member off staff, after a perfect day at ascot races come back for a quick night cap to be told closed not serving you go away, website says closes at 23:00. This was a member of staff from beefeater NOT premier inn. After a heated exchange of words the woman from premier inn was perfect and very professional. Now the girl working this shift for beefeater should not have anything to do with a public service job. Also breakfast was terrible didn?t even have orange juice
