Lovely garden centre, tearooms and aquatic shop.

Having read reviews going back over the past two years there has been a common theme of unfriendy staff, and despite feedback saying that improvements would be made, I am afraid that this problem still exists going by our experience today and the last several times. We lunch out at different cafes/garden centres every day and visited here ever since a dog area was created, which is one positive for the cafe, however this has the worse customer service experience of all the places we visit. This includes the counter service, food delivery staff and staff walking the floor across all age groups. A smile and nice greeting or just saying enjoy your meal would be nice, even ask if anything else is needed after delivering the food. I would also state that more effort could be made with the food presentation for the prices charged, especially improving the salad garnish to be more than a few mixed green leaves out of a bag. I ordered an additional mixed side salad for my wife thinking this would be an improvement on the garnish. For £3.45 all we received was a tiny dish with around 10 further green leaves and a little tomato - very poor! It would be a good idea for the manager to visit other cafes and garden centres to compare notes to see what improvements can be made.

Just been for lunch and was so, so disappointed. I had the chicken Ceaser salad and it was gross. Set on the plate like a poke, not layered. The chicken was cold, mostly leg bits and dry, croutons too hard to eat, anchovies plonked in a lump on the side and the bacon so aneamic that it looked raw, the whole experience made me feel physically sick but as I was taken as a guest didn?t feel I could complain. ?

Lovely lunch today - albeit a bit warm and muggy sitting outside and a lot of wasps around becoming a bit of a nuisance!
Had the Prawn Marie Rose Flaguette which was very tasty!

Had breakfast, it was efficiently served with drinks, including ice. It was very good, toast was excellent whereas often the toast served with breakfast is cold and the bread poor. This was the exception.
Very toothsome.

This garden centre is beautiful with fantastic variety of plants and garden accessories to choose from. The fashion store is wonderful! The cafe is cool, good food. A relaxing and peaceful place for garden enthusiasts like me.

Stopped off here with the Mrs and her mother got a coffee break, we also had the most wonderful slices of cake! Prices are a tad up there but the quality is 100% there! I definitely recommend it here! All the staff are absolutely wonderful to!

I'll just review the cafe.
One of my usual favs when it comes to breakfast or lunch. The food is good quality ?
I normally order the full English.
However on today's occasion, the black pudding presented to me seems to be a bit chipped off. Not saying that the chef took a bite but it's probably to do with the black pudding partially broken up on the transfer process from the pan to the plate and the chef didn't check.
(Please check out the last photo).
I didn't want to cause a scene in front of the other lovely families sitting down near us, so I just pretended it didn't happen.

It's a lovelly garden centre and decent cafe. I had a chicken ceaser which was great accept the crunchy croutons were soft , more like an odd collection of stale bread bits that were ledtovers, rathe than an actual ingredient.

Lost two of the indoor plants, wished to replace them, my fault neglect! Called in the house plant area with this view in mind. So pleased I did, Lisa was so knowledgeable and extremely patient, I was amazed as to how much information she was able to offer. I explained I wished to replace my 'spider plants' which had been stupendous over the years, reaching over two feet in height, but now were so unhappy. And two flowering Cacti which were also looking 'shriveled'. I managed to replace the spider plants, however Lisa suggested not to give up on the cacti, just yet. I also purchased a Yucca. Lisa explained not every plant needed the same treatment, my school girl error, having originally placed them in a trough. Lisa showed me a selection of pots, and insisted I tried the plants into the pots before purchasing, they looked stunning. Only two on display but again, Lisa went off to find the third, needed. I was forced to return the next day, having removed the cacti they now looked so much happier, I now needed another two pots. So professional, patient and charming, a real asset to this department , especially for the likes of me.
Thank you Lisa.

Oh dear. We decided to try out the restaurant there today hoping for a nice lunch. What a disappointment. One meal was quiche which came with the smallest side 'salad' I've ever seen. To call it a 'salad' was false advertising really - it was a bit of limp lettuce with some dressing, that was it. No cucumber, no tomato, nothing else. The quiche was rock hard and tasteless too. The other meal was Caesar Salad. The only saving grace was the decent amount of chicken. The anchovies were awful, the croutons were soft and stale and the lettuce was just a sliced Gem lettuce cut into 4 pieces. We also had chips with each meal which were almost cold. We literally left most of it, drank our tea and walked out. Certainly won't be going again for the restaurant. The garden centre itself is very nice.

We had an expensive lunch here, was terrible. £30 for stale crisps and croutons that were old, stale pieces of brown bread with dry, old chicken. Can?t believe we actually paid for it. Had a better McDonalds. Never going back.

I visit this garden centre restaurant probably twice a week, as much as its nice seeing a varied age group in the staff, but some of the younger staff are not very helpful or welcoming, as for the older staff have a smile and conversation. But now I'm noticing your pushing the older staff out and moving the younger ones at the till it's not good in my opinion
