This is an antique shop proper, one true to it?s name, like those one saw far more of in days of yore. The pieces are selected with care and with an eye for the traditional but also the unusual. Many are exquisite to behold, historically significant and their materials of exceptional quality.Yes, the prices may appear considerable but this is quality and you get what you pay for. To give this shop just two stars in a previous review just because the owner was not yet back from a clearly prescribed lunch break is hardly a noble gesture it seems to me. Andrew Singleton and his period windows of aesthetically pleasing treasures have long been an asset to the Suffolk village of Yoxford and a bastion of good taste in a world fast losing it.

Have your bank manager on speed-dial if you plan to buy anything from here! The quality of stock is excellent and well presented over two floors. Mainly larger pieces of early and often significant English furniture, English Delft and tapestries to suit the tastes of the discerning country house owner. It is one of my favourite antique shops albeit to look at rather than to shop in due to the general cost of the stock but there are cheaper options for antiques-shoppers in the town.

It was closed at 2pm on Monday. Looks nice through the window.
