My daughter held her wedding reception here on Saturday and I have to congratulate all the staff on their kindness, efficiency and attention to detail! The afternoon and evening ran like clockwork, from the welcome drinks to the canapes to the hot buffet, the food was excellent. They accommodated the band and made sure they were fed at half time! All in all the evening was a night to remember. Thank you Captains Table!

The Captain?s Table is summer stripped to the essentials: a pint, a gin and tonic, the garden sun on your face. No flash, no fuss just the quiet pleasure of a drink in the right place at the right time. The soundtrack is laughter from the next table, cutlery against plates, and the easy rhythm of a Suffolk summer afternoon. This isn?t luxury. It isn?t curated. It?s simple, real, and fleeting a beer, a G&T, the summer sun and that, in its own way, is perfect.

We enjoyed lunch here for Father's Day. Lovely to eat outside, though there's tables inside too. Fabulous mini roast and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Stopped here for Lunch, we had the daily special (Slow cooked pulled beef in tamarind jus, hispi cabbage, honey and sesame carrots, sweet potato mash) and the Asian bowl (Roast Asparagus, Tempura Cauliflower, Singapore fried Noodles, Asian Slaw and a chilli dip). The food was fantastic, great coffee and the service attentive and polite, a great experience & great value. Will definitely be back 10/10.

Lovely meal tonight at The captains table. Seabass with curried Dahl, roasted cauliflower and a lime and coriander pickle. Seabass melted in the mouth, the dahl had just the right amount of heat and the cooling pickle complimented the dish perfectly. Hubby had a yellow curry and was also very imprssed. Service was spot on aswell. Will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend.

Good choice on the menu. Delicious food enjoyed by all in our party today (jerk chicken, smoked haddock souffle, cod loin and steak - all meals a good size and well presented). Excellent service too. Thank you

Disappointing lunch. Portions are small. Over priced and the cauliflower in tempura was over salty. We didn?t bother staying for coffee. Service was not great- we had to ask for ketchup rather than being offered it to accompany scampi and fries.

Fifteen years or so ago, I used to travel all the way from Wymondham in Norfolk by train to visit lovely Woodbridge and, especially, to have lunch here. Then the owners went off to have a family and the place went from having an excellent reputation to, shall we say, becoming rather less successful.
With some business to attend to in the town, I booked a midweek lunch in February, three courses for just £19.
Hurrah! The Captain's Table has the original folk back, Pascale is turning out wonderful souffles again and the restaurant clearly has its mojo back.
I opted for the homemade soup of the day, which was cauliflower cheese with Focaccia bread. Blooming marvellous. Thick, hot and very tasty, just the job for a grey February day. For main, I chose the home made pie of the day - beef and bacon, with mashed potato, braised peas and a little jug of gravy on the side. It was all really tasty, especially the pie.
For dessert, light and yummy sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and a jug of splendid custard.
Attentive service, friendly staff, food really quick to come out of the kitchen.
Having recommended my soup and pie, the 'ladies who lunch' behind and across the room from me opted, without exception, for the kitchen's signature dish which, on the day, was 'twice baked smoked haddock souffle on wilted spinach, a creamy cheese sauce, served with chips and salad'. £18.50's worth. It looked wonderful and must have been, because the ladies said so!

Called to the Captain's Table on our last night of a week's holiday in Woodbridge. This resturant didn't disappoint.
Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
The food was excellent.
Gluten free options were also available as my wife is celiac.
My son and I had pan fried pigeon from the specials board for starters followed by the guinea fowl.
My wife had the twice baked souffle for main.
We would definitely recommend this resturant and will return should we visit Woodbridge again.
