“Joined the congregation at St John's for the Christmas Carol Service. It was most enjoyable and the people were very friendly. Mulled wine and mince pies were served after the service and the church was decorated with lots of Christmas trees decorated by local groups and businesses.”

“Beautiful old church, quite isolated in surrounding fields in a very rural location. The interior is really quite tiny, but dominated by its huge organ. St. John's has a long history, its main item of intrigue being that a former rector was father of Matthew Hopkins, the man who became self-appointed Witchfinder General & brought a reign of terror to this region in the mid-1600's...”
