We are staying in the area, and are so happy to have stumbled across The Yurt at Potton Hall on one of our walks. It's a lovely space, set in a gorgeous garden surrounded by marvellous old trees, and with the little Dunwich River running through. There's a sculpture trail not to be missed, and artistic touches everywhere. We've had coffee there twice, and lunch once. The food is superb, and the staff could not be more welcoming, pleasant and accommodating. We have booked an evening meal, and are hoping to fit in a back massage as well before we leave!

We had a superb evening this last Saturday (29th Sept). The Yurt is beautiful and in beautiful tranquil surroundings. Priscilla is the perfect host;- welcoming, joyful, attentive and careful with our privacy. The food was absolutely splendid and we went home very grateful. When we are in the area again we will visit the Yurt. And may also stay there too. It was perfect.

We had a great evening at The Yurt. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff friendly and the food superb. The chef uses ingredients from the garden to enhance his dishes. We returned the next day to see the sculpture park and it was great to see a party of young mums having a day out at the spa. This is an unusual, generous and welcoming place. We hope one day to return and stay in the soon to be opened hotel.

Really beautiful location and very high quality food ?\\nI think my partner and I shall be regulars at the yurt.\\nThe staff were welcoming and, unlike many places along the Suffolk coast, the pricing is fair for the quality of the food and wine.\\nWe enjoyed the art trail and gardens too. All in all a lovely afternoon.

After a pleasant walk at Dunwich, we four ladies (of a certain age) we?re looking forward to a convivial lunch on a sunny day. We chose to book the Yurt. The entrance off the main road is in prepossessing. A coat of paint on the gate, some general tidying of the track to the house and maybe the odd pot of plants at the entrance would have been nice. The car park was empty, as was the spa- no one around until we found the yurt and the waitress. She was not welcoming. We sat on one of the many empty tables and eventually went to get a menu. This did not live up to the expectations seeded by the websites. Two types of sandwich, a salad and mussels. Oh and a risotto.and soup. When we were at the bar trying to gain the attention of the waitress, we spied some very sad slices of cake. As we were there and it was the birthday of one of the four, we decided to stay. Sandwiches were made with old bread, salad was a few outer leaves of a lettuce, a warm goats cheese and a spoon of onion marmalade, garnished with roughly chopped tomato. No dressing. The wine was warm. Not willing to sample the very sad cake we asked for a fresh supply and were offered brownies- no, a good brownie is a wonderful thing. This was an average traybake. No cream or even a shake of icing sugar to suggest that it was being served in a restaurant. The bill was £100. Daylight robbery. The sandwiches at £9.50 and the cakes at £18 for four slices were a particular rip off. The wine was £25 This was one of the most disappointing culinary experiences ever. There are good climbing frames for children but no child appropriate food.

I had 2 good experiences at The Yurt. However the last twice that we have booked The Yurt cancelled the booking on the morning of the day that we were due to visit. It's very inconvenient and also rather awkward when you have invited guests for the restaurant to do this. I shall never waste my time trying to book here again. This is no way to manage a business.

Good bistro food with a good range of drink options. Had steak and fish, both well cooked. Cakes looked good. Good dining option for this area of Suffolk

This is a fantastic find, serving organic and wholesome food in a brilliant location. The yurt provides an excellent location for an evening meal and there is ample outside space too. The food was absolutely fantastic with great service and all at a reasonable price. We will have no hesitation in returning!
