The service really let this place down. Due to an intolerance I asked the lady taking our order whether one of the cakes had cream in it. She just looked at me and said 'your guess is as good as mine ' , obviously no knowledge of the cakes and completely no effort to even try to find out, very disappointed.

Amazing - Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Best breakfast I?ve had in a really long time! I had the eggs Royale, and my husband had the full breakfast. Everything was amazing and very reasonably priced for the quality and amount we got. Service was wonderful and the baked goods were fresh and warm! Will be back here again and again.

We have been going to Elveden since we move nearby 15 years ago. We booked Sunday lunch here today and were disappointed for the first time. One thing that struck us was that it was quiet, especially for Sunday Lunch. We both had roast pork. It did not look appetising from the beginning with all the sliced meat of a uniform size and not as if it had been carved from a leg as stated in the information. The taste was of something that had been cooked in old oil or fat and I could not finish mine. The Yorkshire pudding was of a good size but tasted the same and was very dry.
We didn't complain as this is the first time it had been like this in all our visits.
The service that we received was excellent as usual and probably that is why we did not complain. Maybe a new chef?

It's a beautiful place with some boutique-y type shops full of lovely things. Great food in the restaurant, amazing things in the deli. A touch pricey but in line with the surroundings.
