I popped into Southwold Books to find a holiday read and the lady who served me was so friendly and helpful. She made two recommendations which I bought. I finished the first in 4 days and am already enjoying the second! Thank you Southwold Books!!

A really disappointing experience for my 17 year old daughter who loves bookshops- she left the shop upset yesterday after the female member of staff serving her was rude and dismissive to her. She was so excited about her purchases but left feeling upset and embarrassed. Not the way to encourage young people to read.

Really disappointed in this bookshop. Went in thinking it was an independent bookstore; then overheard a customer being asked if they had a Waterstones card so it materialises that it's a Waterstones pretending not to be. A sly trick. Also noticed that the store doesn't have any of the price reduction offers Waterstones offers in those stores which actually own up to being Waterstones - a deceitful, money-grabbing venture if ever there was one. Also found out that the genuine independent bookshop that used to be in Southwold has now closed down. I wonder why that could be?

A lovely bookshop, and the lady was really helpful. I went in looking for 1 book and came out with 2 lol. Although this is not actually an independent book shop it feels like it and it's a great place to find your holiday reading :-)
