I went to have lunch in there. The service was excellent. Friendly staff. The lunch was also excellent and I will be going back there again. As I was on my own I felt very comfortable in there. Thank you to the Randolph staff.

Recent short w.e. stay at very reasonable DBB rate. Comfortable accommodation with new en-suite facilities. Excellent food, especially breakfast. 15-minute walk into Southwold town. Recommended.

Spent two nights here in January - the rooms were excellent as was the breakfast. Friendly staff made for a very nice stay.Good value too - would recommend.Rooms: Rooms were newly refurbed and comfortable.

Looked very nice on Booking.com photo, but had stained walls, cracked ceiling and very dirty, mouldy windows. Also overlooked main road and passing walkers and travellers could see straight into the room. When we complained was told it was the only room not refurbished, but would be in November, which didn't help us! Initially refused to give us a refund, but we then agreed to stay for one night, and be refunded for the 2nd night. Still awaiting the refund! Try the Le Bouchon in Heybridge. A beautiful hotel and very nice people!

We chose the Randolph to host my mum's 90th Birthday celebration. We asked for an afternoon tea for 25 guests. From the intial contact and request around five months previously The Randolph management have been exemplary in their understanding and assistance. Health issues with Mum caused uncertainty that we would be would be able to have the event at all however The Randolph were incredibly accomodating and happy to wait until closer to the date for final deposits etc. They were great in assisting with the party on the day and provided a really excellent afternoon tea in Southwold Beach Hut presentation stands which my mum loved. One of our guests remarked that she paid £50 a head for a very average afternoon tea in London and The Randolph's was far superior and far cheaper! Well done The Randolph!!

We booked to stay here back in March (six months ahead) for two nights. On arrival we?re given a inferior room and we?re told it was because we booked on Booking .Com and not direct. Trusting Booking .Com after many years of using them we We?re amazed. This room had peeling wallpaper, stained ceilings, badly rotting wood to windows. When I complained to the guy on Reception he said this is the last room in the hotel to be refurbished !!, and would I mind some workman coming in the room the next day to measure up for new window fittings, to add insult to injury !! He would not speak to the owners of the hotel , but subsequently did so and offered a full refund to leave at once! this was at 5pm at night, so we knew it would be impossible to find another place. We stayed the one night, they are due to refund for the next booked day. We both spent that night being very wound up and angry at the situation. The room was No8, which needs to be sorted before allowing anyone else paying full price to stay there. To blame Booking.Com for the situation is unbelievable.

Rooms: Stayed in The Winston Suite, a fabulous room, a real treat for a couple of nights.Food & drinks: Breakfast was very nice, ate there at night too, very good. Plenty of beer/wine/sprit choice too.

Very comfortable very clean. Restaurant was excellent with good choices as was the choice of breakfast. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Within easy reach of Southwold and surrounding areas. Lovely part of the country scenic and quiet
