The staff at The Blyth were lovely and welcoming. The cooked breakfast was amazing. The room we had was very clean and spacious but were tired. The owners are in the midst of renovation works and if they continue the hotel will look beautiful.Walkability: Not far to walk into village centre and beach.

Really I?ve staff. Left my key aside as I was late arriving. Breakfast tasty. I will say that my shower was broken and their solution was just to have a bath rather than try to fix or look at anything. Still though, considering the prices in many Southwold hotels this is all good. I?d come

Historic hotel, which apparently was the railway station hotel. The hotel has definitely seen better times. The room we stayed in (9) had windows you could not complete close, and the loo failed to flush easily. No help from the staff in resolving this problem. My partner never managed to flush the loo, I could, but several attempts.Rooms: The room we stayed in was at the top of the building. It was OK. The windows were rather rickety, rotten wood and could not be closed completely. The bathroom, flushing the loo required an art. My partner failed in every attempt, I had to provide the required pressure to flush the loo.Food & drinks: We ate only breakfast. The first day was good. The scrambled egg was good, cereal, juices, toast, yogurt was fine. The second day went for Full English. Again everything was good, except the English. It was the overcooked bacon and sausage that let it down.

Room was huge! A few niggles with it (net curtains black at the bottoms) but on the whole room was good. Breakfast was nice and lots of it. Can't comment on dinner as you have to book a table before 5.30pm to be allowed to eat there!! Location is good, a few minutes walk into Southwold. It is on the main road but our room was quiet nonetheless.

Excellent food especially breakfast. Decent Adnams beers . Bright and airy downstairs. Rooms are awaiting redecorating but this is reflected in the price. Short stroll to seafront and town centre. Building has character and history ( once the Station Hotel).

Poor quality room for the price. Terrible cheesy smell in corridor outside bedroom, bathroom bin still full from previous occupants, uninviting bath with horrible yellowing non slip shower mat, noisiest macerator on loo, tiny refreshments shelf at worrying angle. Exterior paintwork peeling and shabby. Staff were friendly and breakfast was ok. But overall overpriced for the experience and we are not likely to return or recommend.

We stayed here for one night due to a few visits booked in southwold. Location was fantastic, a short walk into the town to everywhere we wanted to visit. Friendly staff on arrival. We got the impression the new owners were trying to get the hotel back up to its best. Very dated in places. But the thing I didn?t like was the cleanliness. The bathroom was dirty. The towel rail was filthy. They hadn?t hoovered the room. There was quite a few cobwebs and dust. The breakfast the following morning was lovely. A lot of selection.

Having visited this hotel/restaurant back in 2015 when the food was disappointing we decided to return when we noticed it was under new management?.so pleased we did. The service was lovely and the food great! The menu is basic but gave everyone options in our family and was excellent value for money. We throughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be eating there again!

The service at The Blyth is superb, location is excellent (just a five minute walk into the town centre) and we would recommend without any hesitation. Some areas of the Hotel require updating and the young owners Hannah and Amber are working extremely hard to rectify this. The Blyth is a very old building (originally The Station Hotel) and perhaps when you first arrive you will be disappointed with the exterior. However, the ground floor - reception, restaurant and lounge area have been fully updated. The staff are updating other areas - we stayed in Room 5 and were very pleased with it. OK, the bathroom was dated but very clean with plenty of hot water and top quality towels etc. it had an enormous double bed and the bedding was very good quality. The furnishings were excellent. We ate in the restaurant every evening and were extremely pleased with the quality and choice of food and the extremely competitive prices. The bar is fully stocked. We wish the staff all the best and thank them for their efficiency and friendly approach. Other guests we spoke to were invariably regulars.

Welcoming and professional staff! Lovely and clean rooms, excellent food. We got there after a long day on our bikes, the lady at the reception was extremely helpful. The Blyth is a charming small hotel, perfect for couples. The restaurant offers an ample choice of food and what we had was delicious

Being coeliac my husband checked the breakfast would be OK, got told salmon and eggs and GF toast were on menu. Brilliant, as I thought, but once we were finally allowed in for breakfast, 8.30 am, was told 7.45 by receptionist day before. No salmon or GF bread. Waitresses were so slow and other customers were complaining about the quality of food.On a positive the room was beautiful, location was great, parking was limited but good.
