A lovely, friendly pub with a nice atmosphere and a great selection of drinks. There are benches outside so you can enjoy food and drink in the sunshine. The range of Adnams beer, cider and wine is fantastic. Highly recommended!

I have been coming to the Sole Bay Pub all my life and like many locals & frequent summer goers I was wondering, with the increasingly homogenised Adnam?s offering across the town wherever the Sole Bay, had started to loose its soul?
Well yesterday I was proven wrong for a brief moment in time. The pub showed the Woman?s Euros on a small TV to a fantastic crowd - there was real energy, atmosphere and community! The good times were flowing.
I hope they can continue to host such small sporting events to encourage that sense of personality & community. I?m sure it makes good business sense too!

We watched the women?s euros here and it was so amazing. The bar staff were so welcoming and charismatic and the experience was one of genuine community and support. So glad somewhere in Southwold was showing support for women?s football!

I really want to give this 5 stars because it is unquestionably the best Fish 'n' Chips in Southwold. Quality is very good. The batter is crispy, light and tasty. The fish portion size could be bigger and possible to be fresher.. The fish was quite dry but I do put this down to how thin the piece of fish was which meant it had dried out during the cooking, we had Haddock. Also ordered a portion of scampi, lovely plumb and juicy and the breadcrumb coating was delicious. Special mention to the Tartare sauce - Superb. I've had to mark it down by 2 points because of price and portion size. Wait time was over half an hour, but that can be forgiven, since the queue was impressively long. Given how popular the place is, c'mon you can be a bit more generous ?

Popped in for a light lunch and drink while visiting Southwold. Was a lovely pub with a lovely local feel to it, lots of great beer selection and the food was very nice. Would highly recommended.

Really nice pub. Food really good, especially when you can get Gluten free battered fish and chips which was ideal as my wife is a ceoliac. Well recommended.
