From a chef my duck was amazing cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was great we came in on our holiday and it was an open mic night, would recommend it

Just had a really lovely meal at the Chequers Pub.
We ate there last year and thought we would pop back and try it again. Just as good as last year. The sweet was to die for. Definitely recommend this pub.Proper village pub with excellent food 5 stars.

My husband and I along with 2 friends visited The Friston Chequers for Sunday lunch on 23 June. The young man serving recommended the roast, and all 4 of us were in agreement that it was one of the best Sunday roasts that we have enjoyed for a long time. The staff were attentive and eager to please. A pleasant atmosphere helped to make our visit memorable. We shall return again soon and can highly recommend a visit to this pleasant pub.

We'd seen good reviews, so thought we'd pop in on an early Thursday lunch. We hadn't booked, didn't think we would need to! Thankfully they had set aside a few walk ins and we got there early doors.Starters were as you expect, really well done homemade food. Main was dressed crab with fries and salad. Sounds simple, but so so good. Will recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Quite amazing lunch. Worthy of top class restaurant. Pan roasted duck breast, with smoked duck potato, butternut purée ++. Quite extraordinary meal for only £16.25. Excellent atmosphere, service and Adnams Southwold bitter.
