Excellent food at competitive prices. Worth a stop if you're passing through.

Good food at a good price

We stayed in August for a few days. Bookings of 7 days are expected in high season but in reality the site is half empty (at least on week days). The facilities are inexplicably closed & the reasons given in the site?s feedback inadequate. We have stayed on several sites recently & all the facilities are open with covid-secure hygiene procedures in place. Visitors choose to use them or not. The consequences of closed facilities at Church Farm are queues at the one Elsan point & a general air of being ripped off since the site is expensive & needs investment. The feedback to constructive criticism is rude & unprofessional in the main which probably rings alarm bells for those thinking of visiting. The location is very good but the attitude towards customers is contemptuous. It is common knowledge that a planning application to erect lodges on the touring site was rejected, perhaps for reasons of ecology. Whatever the case, the site appears to be being run down. Think hard before booking.

I'm amazed to read the feedback from the site..... It is utterly ridiculous that the toilets are closed. I am on my own so 'suffered' by using my on-board facilities, but for a family this must be gross! I stayed at the height of the season, during school holidays and there were at least 20 vacant pitches, hmm perhaps because the toilets are closed - not the very busy that they state in another response. And all the nonsense about keeping staff safe, so I assume those same staff are shielding, not going out.... 20 pitches at £45 each is a loss of £900 a night. Friendly, absolutely not!! A friend forwarded me an email that was sent to static owners re WIFI, very rude. And as for statics I understand that unlike other sites they have not received a penny rebate or credit for closure during lock downs, even though the site must have saved £'000s on reduced water bills, no garbage collections, council tax covid rebates, etc etc... As someone previously commented, it's take it or leave and I certainly will not be returning. Greedy, rude owners who could do with going on a customer service course. Amber Leisure own the site - interesting Trust Pilot reviews too! Don't know how they sleep at night.

This site does well because of its location by the sea, though there is no view of it. Post covid in a busy UK August 2021, the site is poor and expensive. The pitches need attention; hedges need cutting, weeds removing, leveling on many spots. The small number of hard standing pitches are reserved for caravans ( often too small). The loos remain inexplicably closed at the height of the season, reception is non-existent. There are long queues for the one place to empty chemical toilets & plenty of grumbling by current customers. Why are the showers and loos closed? The site needs proper maintenance and investment other than grass cutting. The entrance leads to a static site, including Marsh View where lodges are on sale for upwards of 300, 000 pounds. Not sure the condition of the touring site helps here. We?ve stayed before and in the breaks during the pandemic always understanding we were trading position for facilities. But there are none at present except power and water. Poor. It feels as though the site would be more valuable clear of tourers and upkeep and updating has been largely halted because of this?

Another excellent time spent at this site, which we always enjoy. Although we do like this site I do have to agree with other comments that pitches are not very well kept this year, (This was our second visit this year) with grass very uncared for and rather long in places, and the hedges could do with a trim. I also have to agree the closed Toilets, Showers and washing up area do seem to be a bit of a "Cop out" since this is the 6th Site we have visited this year and the ONLY one with closed facilities. This seems unnecessary given all other sites seem to be opening facilities, and there is no reduction in pitch price for lack of these facilities.. Even the Elsan point is closed and you have to stand out in the rain and empty down a hole in the ground. I did note the site was unusually "Empty" given this is the holiday period and I do wonder if the closing of the facilities is short sighted and proving to be a money loser as there are many other sites to chose that do have toilets / showers etc open. Would not stop us returning, but very disappointing that Church Farm wants to stand out from other sites and keep facilities closed.

Could not be better for the beach and short walks into Aldeburgh & Thorpeness. But, met at the gate by a warden who told us our pitch number, which we knew already. No site plan, no local information sheets or any of the usual paperwork. Never saw him again. A couple of guys did do some tree pruning but we had to cut back some brambles and nettles to get clear access to our van. Pitches were not particularly well mown. Water tap on the pitch was a bonus as was grey waste. No signs to the CWP so we had to go searching and asking other users. Toilets and showers were closed. Why? Pretty well all other sites are open albeit with restrictions. This included the proper CWP, instead it was a lift-up flap on a manhole cover with a hosepipe next to it. IMHO, this site is a bit of an afterthought compared to the main statics site. We would stay again but only when fully open (no discount this time!) and I suggest some signage would help. Upside was it was well protected from wind by trees and the sound of the sea was lovely.

Peaceful site so close to Aldeburgh right by the beach and within easy walking / cycling to Thorpeness. Met on arrival by a friendly chap sitting in a car at the gate. Site access very easy as was finding the pitch which was clearly labelled. Each pitch has its own water supply, EHU, grey water drain and most are bounded by hedges. In the spirit of providing factual / helpful? information ... we were on pitch 58 which is not that level - it was OK for our 6.5m motorhome pulled tight up to the back of the pitch but longer vans might struggle to achieve an even keel so to speak. Whilst there we 'enjoyed' almost biblical rainfall and noticed some of the pitches filled with water being poorly drained - see pictures. As previously reported the Elsan cubicle was still closed in mid-June and disposal was via an adapted man hole cover beside a site road nearby. Unable to comment on reception, staff or wi-fi mentioned in other posts as we didn't see anyone or use those facilities. To finish - superb location, mostly nice pitches and excellent EHU / water facilities. Well worth a visit sometime.

Just returned from this site, pitch and position was ideal. Unfortunately the actual touring facilities are grossly inadequate. We understand the Covid rules, but why should the Elsan disposal cubicle be closed, where contact would not normally take place, disposing of the Elsan waste on a roadside drain next to a static caravan is disgusting. Rows of waste bins are positioned outside the waste area , not around the site, having to walk quite a distance to them. I feel a Covid excuse may be used for saving on staff and money in this instance. Perhaps the price could be reduced also during this Covid period !!!

This site is at a great location within yards of the beach and a short walk to town. However, they have grumpy uncooperative staff in the office that do not understand customer service. They state wifi is only useful for email but it simply doesn't work at all. There is a large front entry gate that is always closed so all traffic is forced to use a narrow gate near the beach and it's hard to get in and out. Particularly in the summer.

So let's be clear. We have been coming here for years and love it. The location is stunning and it's a good site. The down side is the cost. They have put the prices up by £10ish a night, £35 off peak, £45 peak. And at the mo no facilities are open but they are still charging full price. I am guessing to pay for the over priced new lodges! The wifi is rubbish especially now the free wifi (not worth using) to make you now pay for wifi!! and we were made to book 7 days but all around us people are coming and going every few days. No wonder in mid august there are so so many empty pitches. (PEAK SEASON) you have become greedy and lost focus church farm. It's a real shame. We will visit again, but not often because of the cost.

Wonderful location, next to the beach and easy access to the town. No facilities due to Covid and a very dated Elsan. You need a pipe for your grey water waste, each pitch has own drain but no drive over waste. We had to use a bucket to empty ours.
