Very disappointed with the meal -for the money . And to add 10% service charge on a table of two smacks of just making money for nothing. Service wasn't great either -and they lied the night before -telling us it would be better to book as on a Friday night-as they got very busy. 3 bookings and hardly anybody in -hence the charges methinks. ! Won't be returning again .

Great location for concert at Snape. Easy 5 min walk on good footpath. Rooms excellent. Food good.

What an absolute gem to find, the service was exceptional. The food was absolutely 2nd to none.
We had some really good beers, great food and would go back at the drop of a hat .

Great room size. Breakfast not until 9am , okay if on holiday but not so good when travelling for work.

Lovely room in a lovely pub with lovely staff :-) Everyone was helpful and friendly, good food (especially the pies) and atmosphere, good location for walks and visiting the area.

This should have been 5 stars all round, the location is great, the food was good, the room was clean and comfortable and the staff were lovely and welcoming.
Unfortunately it was seriously let down by one of the owners who was having a family meal at the next table. They had zero control over their children and zero consideration for others in the restaurant. The children were running around, screaming and shouting the entire time. It got so bad that we had to move tables to finish our meal.
I get that it's a family friendly pub, but that shouldn't be at the expense of everyone else.

The pub was so welcoming with a lovely fire , it's so much bigger than it looks outside with a real local community feel

It's tucked away down a road a little bit away from Snape Maltings but absolutely worth seeking it out

If you are thinking of visiting for a quiet meal or group celebration, I totally recommend you visit The Golden Key.
The staff are welcoming, cheerful, helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
The food was fantastic and hot.
We had a party of 25 and our meals all arrived in a timely manner.
Thankyou for making our Christmas meal enjoyable and I noticed all empty plates

Popped in for a Sunday roast and can honestly say it's the best beef roast we've had in a pub in years. Veg cooked properly and a great price.
Staff so friendly and despite a very large booking in another room the food came out in good time and piping hot.
We'll be back.
