When in for something to eat and was stood waiting to order food and drinks bar lad and bar girl went from one end bar to other to serve another couple that came in after we had after waiting 10 mins or more at the bar ready to order food and drinks we walked out bar staff totally rude

What a lovely and welcoming country pub. We descended on a Friday night as a large group and Jane looked after us fabulously; the locals seemed a little confused but engaged with us. Good quality and value ?pub grub? and hit the spot. Will definitely go back when we are in the area.

This is a great pub with fantastic food. We were a big group and the staff did terrifically well in looking after us all. Totally recommend going here and it was very reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Cozy pub. The steak and Ale pie was delicious. My partner had the fish & chips and that was also very good. I know because I checked. Pudding was quite good too. Would certainly visit again. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Jane welcomed us to her fantastic pub like old friends. Even though we were a big party, she made us each feel at home. Great atmosphere. great beer and a terrific night. Thank you.

We attended a friend?s cinema party and had hot chocolates, popcorn, chips, and pizzas. The owner of the establishment and her son couldn?t have been more helpful. Fantastic service, food and venue. Thank you!

There were 8 of us for a family birthday celebration Sunday lunch. An absolutely fantastic meal of beef, chicken and vegan roast, all freshly cooked by the lovely Jane. Best roast potatoes ever and all at a very reasonable price. A Happy Birthday plate of donuts completed the meal and then granddaughters walked Frank the pub dog around the grounds. Highly recommended

Lovely little dog friendly pub with some excellent food. We called beforehand to make sure they had space and they let us know they were a little busy due to a staff shortage, but would be able to accommodate us and our dog no problem. Sadly we missed the amazing looking pizzas, but the fish and chips/scampi where really good and the curry sauce was perfect, served in cute little tea cups! Made for a really nice meal. They were friendly, price was good and we would love to go back. ?

A pub like pubs should be! This pub has a generous landlady who with her sons run a welcoming warm conversational hospitable place to spend some time. Meet some locals, meet some holiday makers. Eat some fabulous food and drink lovely ales by the fire. Dogs and families welcome. Cyclists, walkers, runners, farmers .. a lovely place and we will be back!Vegetarian options: A restricted menu generally to uphold the quality of delicious food and always a veggie option. Probably not somewhere to go if you have extreme allergies

We came here after a long journey from London ,the food was excellent, the fish was absolutely delicious and the lady who looked after us stayed open and cooked it ( we were the only ones there that night due to the floods!) we come from poole and have Rick steins around the corner. Honestly, this fish was way better than anything I?ve ever eaten there ! Thin crispy batter and melt in the mouth cod. We returned the following evening as they had Kareoke party night , which was a scream ! They managed to serve fresh pizzas even with a power fault in the kitchen, Jayne, the landlady is awesome !running around performing miracles in the oyster Inn -an absolute must if you?re anywhere in this area . 100% recommend and we send our thanks from Dorset to Jayne and her awesome team for looking after us last weekend.

I haven?t been to such a good pub in a long time. Lovely country location, delicious food, great value and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Recommended for families and dogs

An absolutely amazing venue. I had my baby shower here recently and the hosting was exceptional! Nothing was too much, they decorated, provided amazing catering (the food was incredible!), they just made the whole experience amazing. They unexpectedly took ALL the pressure off and handled everything. Super friendly and kind, I felt like I'd known them for ages despite it being my first time meeting them all. I cannot say enough about this amazing place and the amazing staff. The beer garden is beautiful, the decor is stunning... the atmosphere is gorgeous, it's ideal for any and every occasion from an afternoon beer in the sun to a Sunday roast by the cosy fire (or a special occasion). What a hidden gem. Will definitely be regulars from now on, and everyone who came to my shower (they aren't local) have asked we come back after the baby is born. There wasn't a thing that we weren't all impressed with, you must pop in and try the food, heavenly!(They provided us vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and alcohol free things, and there's plenty of choice! Very budget friendly).Really easy going, any questions just drop them a message!Vegetarian options: Amazing. Home made, so good that the meat eaters ended up eating the veggie and vegan options! There was also plenty of options available and not just "pasta" or "pizza" like a lot of placesDietary restrictions: Gluten intolerance catered for at the drop of a hst, again, no issue here and wasn't limited in what they could eatParking: Parking is easy, large area clearly sign posted, there is a stony car park at the back and a large field area attached to it. There were well over 20 vehicles when we were there and still plenty of roomKid-friendliness: Cinema room and popcorn offered for our children? whilst we had a private function however, the kids were more than happy playing in the "magic garden" whilst being waited on by the staff

A proper country pub, the staff and locals were super friendly the food was hearty and the log fire warming, just what we needed after a very rainy day.
