Stopped at this pub last week and I was charged £10 for a Diet Coke and an orange and lemonade. Coincidentally I had a ten pound note in my hand! I wonder if it had been less money had I paid by card.
I did question the barman at the time and he told me that the price was correct. Funny I didn?t see him run it through the till and I didn?t get a receipt!

Staying at polstead country park
We walked through the woods to the Cock Inn pub.What a lovely surprise it was very friendly we ordered drinks and the ordered food. I had the battered haddock and chips my wife had pan fried fish of the day also haddock I have to day it was the best I have tasted the batter was light and crispy and fish was really fresh and snow white my wife's pan fried haddock she told me was perfect the staff especially the young gentleman that served us were very pleasant and helpful I rounded off with sticky toffee pudding again perfect so big we had to share
Do yourself a favour and check this little gem of a pub out we will be back in the future

We stayed at Polstead Country Park and took a beautiful walk through the woods and footpaths to Polstead for a fantastic evening meal at the cock inn. The large haddock and chips was excellent and Mrs D enjoyed her cray fish salad. We looped back to the camp site via a different route. 5 stars all round, thank you for a great night!!

Expensive which we wouldn?t mind if food was good but it?s not. Would not go there to eat again.

We only stopped for a quick drink, so I can't comment on the food, although plenty of regulars arrived suggesting it must be a good place to eat. It was very quaint, with good bear and friendly service.

Found this lovely place yesterday, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was fantastic and many local people made us felt very welcome?we was the first people to try the new menu and I must say it was first class?hot, fresh and served with a smile at a very reasonable price?will return next time we?re back in the area..thank you

Just had a lovely Sunday dinner at the Cock Inn. Food was really great. The pub is Stooped in history, especially the Red Barn murder. A must visit if you are in the area. Thank you to Deborah and all the staff.

We had a delicious, peaceful meal at Cock Inn Polsted on a gorgeous spring evening. The food was absolutely delicious and we both loved the pan fried haddock - would highly recommend. The staff were super friendly too.

Lovely local pub and so welcoming on our first visit to Polstead. Food was fantastic and very plentiful. Definitely worth a return visit when we are in this beautiful part of the country.
