Don't normally leave reviews about shops. But I thought I would with this one. Well stocked shop with really good prices. And nice choices for food. Driven past for years but recently its formed a good stop gap to get nice food.

Thank you to the two staff members who let me loiter in the shop for a few hours tonight after my car broke down outside. I think I would have frozen to death having to wait outside as it took 4 hours for recovery. I forgot to get both of their names but they were so kind. Thank you again.

What a lovely experience popping in here. Friendly warm welcome a lot if places could learn from! Best fresh figs I have ever had. Would potentially make an out of the way trip to shop there again!

I got married here just over 3 weeks ago and it was lovely, the venue looked stunning due to the amazing events supplier, the florist and Sian. I really wanted to give 5 stars but there were a few issues that happened on the day. I emailed Lorna on the 25th May who was my wedding coordinator but I've received no reply acknowledging it or an apology which I find quite unprofessional. The issues I raised were:- 1. On the morning of my wedding when getting ready strangers were walking around viewing the venue. I was not aware of this and was not asked if this was okay. It would be nice to be warned that this could happen as one person walked in the bedroom as I was getting ready. 2. At my final planning meeting I was advised by Lorna that the bridal "get ready" room would be locked from when we left to go to the ceremony. I was advised that this did not happen and there were personal belongings in the room. 3. I was extremely upset and embarrassed when two of my guests who are vegans were given goats cheese on their main courses when they had specifically chosen a vegan meal and I had stated in the meal planner to Swynford. I was advised that apparently the chef had prepared the dishes earlier and "forgot" they were vegan! My guests had to wait and were given a completely different meal to what they had asked for. What if my guests had eaten it and had an allergic reaction! I find this totally unacceptable from a wedding venue who promote such high standards and have won awards! 4. There were 2 power cuts - one when the best man was giving his speech, this wasn't a major issue as the back up generator kicked in and the second one was later on in the evening. I had a pay bar so when the power cut happened the wifi went as well so my guests were not able to order and pay for any drinks. They were told that they would have to find some opened bottles of wine which was extremely unhelpful for the guests who didn't want alcohol and just a soft drink i.e. coke/lemonade. Now I completely understand that power cuts are out of our control but there should at least be a robust adequate back up plan in place for these situations. Even though my wedding was small and didn't cost as much as the bigger weddings held there (it was a lot of money to us!) it was still a very important day and meant everything. Looking back on the day I have to say Sian (venue manager) was very helpful and was there right from when I arrived in the morning. She decorated the venue beautifully alongside the events supplier. I just feel that my wedding was not treated as importantly as it should have been, it seemed a little slap dash. I must add that all of my suppliers that I had booked and paid for on the day were amazing and I cannot fault them.

Friendly staff, decent range for small convenience store. Coffee gone downhill since the machines were replaced which is why it lost a star.

Beautiful location for a wedding. Staff are friendly, prompt and very helpful. Not a single problem or issue, just absolutely superb. Thank you so much for making a celebration all the better. The rooms are fantastic as well (the bath is luxury). Food was delicious throughout the day/evening. I highly recommend.
