Ordered on Just Eat, order accepted by restaurant (money taken), order never declined, updated it was delivered. Called and said they canceled the order when it came in and that they don't deliver to my location. If you don't deliver, then why is your advertising distance on the app set further out than it should be? Seems like a honey pot. Don't order via Just Eats, they won't be delivering your food.

after trying all the chinese's in newmarket someone recommended Golden Bowl so tried it tonight and was the best so far!! people in there are very welcoming and nice. Food arrived very fast and was still extremely hot and fresh!! will definitely be using again and highly recommend!

I've ordered here before and it's normally been reasonable but the special fry rice this time was very poor. basically boiled rice. no flavour whatsoever. won't be back.

Buckle up cause this may be a long one. I?ll start with a rough timeline of our night:I see on Just Eat the delivery time is between 60 -75mins . I think that?s a bit longer than usual, but make sense as it?s a Saturday night and they?re probably busy. I place our order in at around 5:45pm which is accepted about 5 mins later. After it?s been confirmed, the estimated delivery time is between 7pm -7:20pm. Not great but again, they?re busy.At 7:30, I decide to call the shop just to see if our order will arrive anytime soon. After all it?s nearing 2 hours since I sent our order in and I?m hungry. A man answers the phone says ?I?ve looked it up for you and it?s out for delivery. I can see it went out for delivery. It?s DEFINITELY not here so it?ll be with you soon.? Lovely! I can?t wait to dig in!7:50pm rolls around and still no food. Now it doesn?t usually take over 20mins to get from Newmarket to Burwell in the evenings, especially if all the roads are clear. I call up again but this time make my mom speak to them as I don?t want to get angry with them. The same man answers immediately apologises, repeats to my mother ?the delivery driver is outside! I?m on the phone with him now and he is outside.? So my mother stands outside and wouldn?t you know it! There?s no delivery driver! She tells the man no one is here but he insists there is. It isn?t until my mom says ?I?m standing outside and no one is here?. He then backtracks and says ?oh? well he?s just got into Burwell! He?s in Burwell now you?ll have it soon! A couple more minutes!?8:05PM!!! WE FINALLY RECEIVE OUR FOOD. But of course we had to throw everything in the microwave to warm it up as it was all cold.Now I?m a reasonable person. If they would have just sent a text or called to give me a heads up running late, I would?ve accepted it. What really pisses me off about the whole interaction was the lying. They blatantly LIED several times about the delivery driver?s whereabouts. We were loyal customers to Golden Bowl for years, but safe to say we will be looking for a new Chinese takeaway.

Ordered food, told an hour, rang to chase told 5 minutes, eventually turned up after an hour and 50 minutes, food was cold, disappointed as only have a takeaway on special occasions, spoilt a birthday treat.

Absolutely shocking! Wish I had checked the reviews prior to wasting £40 (which they only accept cash! ) The food was so overcooked.. The dim sum platter was dry and overcooked - the ribs resembled charcoal, in fact when you tried to eat them the shards of burnt "meat* just disintegrated! The chicken satay was the same! The chicken balls are all just a ball of tasteless overcooked dough. In looking into the kitchen which is visible from an unpleasant front area I should of cancelled my order then and there...! Persons working with and packaging food should in my mind have their long hair tied back or covered! Most unhygienic. The carpet at the entrance is disgusting and a sticky mess of who knows what. I was so disappointed with the whole meal and if it wasn't for the fact that this place is far from my residence I would of returned this "food*

I aways use the Golden Bowl for my weekend takeaway treat, on this occasion I ordered amongst other things some sweet and sour pork balls, after the 3rd pork ball I fell badly ill being sick which persisted for the rest of the evening, I honestly haven't felt that ill before, my wife phoned the takeaway to complain and ask for a refund but was met by a very unhelpful receptionist who completely shunned their responsibility and did not want to know, if this is how they treat their good customers then they don't deserve any customers at all, I for one will NEVER use Golden Bowl ever again and I definitely will not recommend them to anyone.
