Fairly quiet Sunday mid-afternoon, took over 10 mins to come and take our order despite us advising we didn't want any cooked food. Asked about ice cream for our child and the server wasn't aware they even did ice cream - one of the things Alder Carr Farm is meant to be popular for! It then took a further 15 mins for our drinks to arrive, which were just 2 teas, 1 coffee and a soft drink.

We booked last minute, but were lucky to get a table. This place came recommended and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious. Although the flat bread was a bit tough, not sure if that's how it should be? We wanted an all day breakfast, but misread the sign( as that is only on Sundays). There is a courtyard to sit in, as well as this vaulted barn. There is a deli and a few other shops, some were closed, but we will back!

Really disappointed by our lunch.
Booked in advance for father's day. Arriving on the day, the 'special' father's day tea had to be booked in advance, but I was never advised by this when booking.
Thus we were left with the main menu which was laughable.
I've eaten at the cafe on and off for several years, but unless things improve this will be the last.
The Sunday menu is terrible. Your choice is an all day breakfast, or sandwiches. Where is the special menu or roast or anything. You can't even order a burger. Very disappointed.
Since we felt we wouldn't find anywhere else 'nice' to eat on short notice we decided to stay (I wish we hadn't) we ordered sandwiches which came with chips and a side salad. Some sandwiches were okay, all the salad was drowning in dressing and the chips disappointing. (They felt like they'd been precooked and left under a heat lamp and were very greasy, no one including the children finished their portion. Grease seemed to be a theme of the meal with the toasted cheese sandwich actively dripping with it.
The drinks were acceptable, the service lack luster. Certainly wasn't made to feel special or even welcome. It all felt like we were an inconvenience to the waiting staff several of whom were sat at the empty tables eating their own lunch!

Sadly not what it used to be, been here many times, didn?t mind paying slightly higher price because the quality of the food was good, unfortunately the quality of the food isn?t very good and the portion size is too small.
You used to get a big mushroom and thick toast including good quality meat, now it?s just like any other generic breakfast you would be able to get elsewhere, too expensive and not good quality.

Took 20 minutes to have our orders taken. Took over an hour after this to get our food, some of which was cold. It?s bacon and eggs, it?s not difficult. We had no apology when paying for our extremely expensive meal

Terrible experience today. No one knew what they were doing! Got seated by one server and then waited 15 minutes to order with another server (two other tables who came after us got served first) After half hour I politely asked where our drinks were to be told that our drink and food order hadn?t gone through due to a problem with their till. We were asked to wait another 15 minutes for our food, (still no drinks) but we gave up and left as our drinks still hadn?t arrived at this point and they wanted the table back at 2pm, this would have given us 15 minutes to eat and drink our food. I suspect they will reply to say they were busy, but there were a number of empty tables and others that came after us got their orders before us.

Ordered bacon and egg sandwich asked for well done bacon as didn?t want it all fatty when it arrived the egg white wasn?t cooked so I pointed it out the waitress said I hadn?t asked for well done eggs and they serve them runny I said I was happy with runny but wanted the white part cooked. She took it back to the kitchen when it arrived back the eggs were very well done and the bacon almost inedible I couldn?t really bite through it !
The dog was happy, I however will not be returning

This is a great place to visit, the food and drinks are delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the cafe is clean and cosy. Staff went out if their way today for us, my baby is teething and i had forgotten his teething toy, I asked for a couple of carrot sticks he could chew on, they didn't have any in the kitchen so they went and got one from the farm shop for me.

Went for lunch today and how lovely it was . Vegetable curry for my husband and venison , chiritzo ? and bacon cottage pie for me . Really nice with excellent service even though they were very busy . It was very cold outside but lovely and cosy in the cafe .

It?s not like it used to be five years ago. It did not feel welcoming and friendly unlike other similar priced cafe/ restaurants in the area. The drinks order was taken in a rather aggressive manner and not sensitively to accommodate elderly people who maybe hearing impaired or those with learning disabilities. We had pre-ordered for eight people three weeks in advance and seven meals were delivered to the table with my aunt kept waiting for more than 10 minutes. They were apologetic but I?m not sure they can manage a large group that well.
