Poor experience buying a hamster.
Went in a day earlier, daughter asked all the questions and got the answers, picked out a cage which we were told was suitable and then went home to think about it.
Returned the next day with a very excited 10yr old, grabbed everything we were told we would need the day before only to then be told the cage was too small for one hamster, showed this huge grey box of a cage, was pushing back a little bit but with a young daughter in tow I didn?t want to create a fuss.
This happens every time in pets at home, get told one thing and then when you go actually buy it your told it?s wrong and upsold to a bigger uglier thing. I get pet safety and happiness is paramount and both cages are fine for the hamster but we were told it?s unsuitable as hamsters need to climb which is great, but then why sell it as a hamster cage if it isn?t suitable?
Was going to buy a wheel but to me it was too small, I read hamsters need a 30cm wheel, this was 20cm at most, was told that?s fine even though it goes against the advice?
Honestly I?m never going back again as it?s just cruel upsell tactics, bad advice and poor attitude.
Avoid, find an independent pet store instead and get good advice.

So so. Bit overpriced and some of the staff dont really want to help and dont always know alot about products. Good selection of pet stuff, clean and tidy store.

Husband tried to buy flea treatment for our dog in lowestoft store but was refused as she (our dog) wasn't due one till next month ( we treated her 2 weeks ago and used last one in packet) woman shop assistant was rude in tone , abrupt and unhelpful. Gave no other explanation, she spoke to husband like he was an idiot! We are responsible dog owners and found this a Horrible experience, wont use this store again

We?ve had no issues up until our last visit. Customer service front has no issues, all staff are very friendly & polite. However, our last groom was appalling. We asked the groomers to tidy her up everywhere but the tails & ears. When she returned her nails & paws had been trimmed appropriately, however her entire coat looked like she had been hacked with scissors blindfolded. 3 bald spots that she didn?t have before, hair different lengths & had a weird oil/grease on her fur. Maybe we got unlucky this time and had a bad groomer? We will not be using the grooming service again. Customer service has been nothing but 10/10 but perhaps the groomers need to be retrained or given extra training before touching animals. Very disappointing for the price paid of £55.

Absolutely disgustes by the service in hindsight. Rehomed guinea pigs, 4 year old would not let us pay and get home for them sorted , was told the hutch was big enough for 2 boars, apparently NOT then when we raised our concerns , we have basically been called liar's!! The safe were lovely just gave out wrong information. So we have rehomed 2 guineas that could die very soon, a hutch we were recommended £50 down the drain . I will not return. Never had any problems in the past but feel very let down by them. We didn't really have time to take other advise as we would have possibly missed out. Through general customer service has been appalling. The staff in store I don't raise issue with except them saying they said different even down to the manager who we spoke to at the last minutes of leaving. All we have asked for is the money back for cage as we have had to replace it. And got told we could return anything we hadn't used..... We left them in a tiny box with no food or water for the past two weeks !!!! NOT!!! ABSOLUTELY STUPIDITY
