They say it's a lot cheaper than the other major supermarkets and I decided to take a look. Seems like they were correct. I was surprised how low the cost at the till was after my regular shop.There are also comments about the quality but I think the quality is as good, it's just that the food tastes different and that's what I'd expect from a different retailer.

A dreadful place to shop as the store owners have employed, in my opinion, bullying parking attendants who sneak about the car park annoying shoppers. I have shopped their twice, under blue badge privilege, to be harrassed on both occasions by such a person. If Aldi can afford to employ such people they don't need my custom.

The store is well stocked, clean and the staff mostly friendly. Value for money shopping with quality. I live so close I can walk there and previously gave this store 5 stars.Two things happened lately. One they removed the cash machine and two they installed self-service tills.With the removal of the cash machine I now have to drive to Tesco's or Morrisons to get cash (which I prefer to use for budgeting) and then tend to shop there instead or go into the Lidls nearby.The self-service tills are the awful ones that have a camera and an elevated screen with you on it. I don't want to see myself, particularly the top of my balding head, whilst I'm packing my shopping!! Don't mind being filmed but put the monitors somewhere else. It just makes me feel unconformable.Other supermarkets, who also have self-service tills, will always give you a choice by keeping a human till open in addition. Not so with Aldi, as quite often a self-service till is the only choice particularly late evening so I've stopped shopping there at that time. Unlike other supermarkets, Aldi human tills verbally instruct you to use the self-service tills if you dare to approach them with a basket instead of a trolley. If you decline, they will still serve you but appear quite cross about it and barely speak to you. Previously those same staff would quite happily chat away.Overall this place used to be an enjoyable, sociable place to shop where I purchased 95% of what I needed. Now I can go in and end up not speaking to anyone, which is just miserable. Having to go elsewhere for cash and avoiding the place at times they go 100% self-service means I now only buy 40% of what I need there. It's also increased my carbon footprint. I only buy that 40% as it's convenient to me because I live close by. If I lived further away then Aldi haven't given me any reason to be loyal and I probably wouldn't shop there at all.
