I had an absolutely horrendous experience at the George and Dragon Hotel in Long Melford. The staff were shockingly rude from the moment we arrived. Despite Booking.com clearly stating that only ID was required upon check-in, they insisted on taking full credit card details and demanded a huge deposit upfront. When questioned, the man at the desk had the audacity to laugh and say, ?It?s non-refundable anyway,? which felt like a total scam.
The condition of the room was appalling. It was filthy, with hairs and dirt everywhere?it was as though the place hadn?t been cleaned in weeks. The bed was the worst part: stained and completely unsanitary. It was an absolutely disgusting sight.
I wouldn?t recommend this place to anyone. Stay far away?it?s not worth the money, the hassle, or the poor treatment you?ll receive

Great atmosphere, friendly staff,couldn't do enough for you,breakfast was very good,entertainment was good as well.will definitely go back. Special thanks to Tyler,he was serving breakfast from 8am,and was still working till closing time late at night,and back again next morning.he was polite,friendly and couldn't do enough for us,thank you.

We went in today for the Carvery there was 6 of us,and we must say the Food was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the Chef we thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be returning! And the young lady serving was Exellent and very polite and looked after us so thankyou to her !! Xx

Comfy bed, big bathroom, hot shower and good full English breakfast. Was looked after well and allowed early check-in (we were just going to park the car and come back at the normal time) recommend for a stay in that area.

We visited the hotel for refreshments only.
The bar was lovely, the staff were very friendly. We'll worth a visit.
Noteworthy details: A historic town, antique shops, tea rooms.
Also have two large country houses. A lovely part of suffolk
