We popped in an asked for a coffee and a tea and a toasted teacake. There were no other customers so all of the tables and chairs were empty. We were told that if we did not want any hot food (obviously a toasted teacake does not count) we would only be served takeaway drinks as he needed to keep the tables free for customers who wanted food. I turned around to look at the empty cafe and said I can see you are full and then left.
Update following the owner's response - The proprietor is quite correct, I did not notice the notice in the window or on the counter. What I did notice is the name of the establishment - Tiffins Cafe - and expected service like any other cafe. The proprietor is quite entitled to run his business how he wants and if that means turning custom away when he has an empty cafe then that is up to him.

Went in for a tea and a coffee. We were refused as we were not having anything to eat. The place was empty and he assured us it would be full up in an hour (at 2pm when he shuts?).

1st time here,what a nice cosy little place, fantastic breakfast and filling,just under £10 for large breakfast,you can add extra to your breakfast at a cost per item,coffee was very nice and good size ,I would definitely come againVegetarian options: You ask for what fillings in baps, vegetarian breakfast has beans toast egg tomato hash browns,lunch menu changes but has all options for vegetarians,you can ask and customise what you would likeDietary restrictions: I did see a list on the cash register asking for allergie requirementsKid-friendliness: Kids menu available

Best Full English in 7 yearsHad a fantastic full English and it was listed as a Large Breakfast. Lovely sausages, bacon, fresh eggs, hash browns, beans, toast & tea was absolutely lovely. Would recommend a visit ? ? ?

A really good sunday roast chicken lunch, one of the best I have had. Excellent quality and plenty of it, I thoroughly recommend Tiffins Cafe. I have also had a first class traditional english breakfast there.
