Overpriced and not the price hike over regular pub's in less picturesque locations.

Really nice Sunday lunch here today. The menu on a Sunday is small and that?s a good thing -
Really bored of pages of descriptions of food when all you really want is a nice roast! There were vegan options but I plumped for the roast beef served with carrots, red cabbage, Yorkie, lovely gravy, roasties and cauli cheese. For pudding I had the sticky toffee one which was more of a date pudding than anything else but still OK and served with ice cream. All in all a lovely meal served in nice surroundings.

What a shame. This used to be consistently great relaxed and friendly place serving great food. But it?s now grubby run down and understaffed. If your looking for food stained walls, filthy loos, un maintained ventilation that sounds like a helicopter is landing on the ceiling, long waits, staff that don?t make eye contact and prioritise checking their mobile phones to greeting customers or serving, pealing paint, grubby stained furniture, half dead plants and weeds then this is the place for you.

As we walked in, was met with a lovely welcome. There was an excellent menu. The waiter explained about the new dishes on the small plate section of menu, and welcomed our feed back. With different places to sit, the atmosphere is great for a get together with friends or larger group celebrating an event.

The venue was really tastefully decorated ,the beer and cider we had was nice however we went for a family lunch and eating there was a big big mistake !!!
First we were told they were fully booked no tables then we were told there was a table as we went through to restraint section of pub there was 2 tables of people both had eaten and both were leaving .
The menu looked and sounded great however when the good arrived it was truly terrible the steak salad the steak was cold chewy and totally inedible I had patas bravados which is mean to be Spanish potatoes in a nice spicy saucy....there was barely any sauce and we also had Gambas prawns which were 5 prawns with melted butter n a slice on chilli thrown on top the triple cook chips were raw inside and the best thing about the meal was the honey cashew nuts
It got worse
The desserts were terrible too ....nasty squishy sickly chocolate brownie and the cheese and biscuits had rotten cheese on them and mouldy

Great pub, had tried 2 others not in lavenham without booking with no success, but phoned the Greyhound to book. Sat out in the courtyard which was lovely and had a great meal
Service was very good, prices reasonable, and a great place to chill out

I love eating here when I am staying in Lavenham. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. The menu is mostly small plates (but not exclusively) which i find great, if there is a couple of you, it's great to dishes to share and try different bits. I love the veggies and they are always fresh and cooked perfectly here!

Easily the best place to eat in town. They?re ?small portions? are actually very nice. The quality of their food is good. They get a little busy so service goes down just a little. I highly recommend it.
