Had soup, coffees and cake after a long walk. The cake was the best I've had in ages, super fresh and moist and not too sweet.

18.6.25 Enjoyed a milkshake and lovely friendly chat, decided to buy pack of Eccles cakes for hubby at home. When I gave them to him later that day he pointed out the sell by date was 27.5.25. very disappointed as they were not cheap

Expensive place £10 for a little sandwich and two salad leaves. Food not that great when you know you can do better at home. Not worth trying.

Popped in for a quick coffee but spotted the cake!!! I had a slice of coffee cake, quite frankly it was probably the best I've had, and I'm partial to coffee cake so had quite a few in my time. Staff were attentive and approachable, with a cheery repose.
Definitely a cafe to stop at if you're in Lavenham.

Had a fish finger sandwich on ciabatta bread just 1 fishfinger in it and was charged £10 !!!
Very expensive for coffee too and staff very unfriendly, avoid a lot better tearooms in lavenham close by .

A lovely warm welcome (both in terms of heat and hospitality) was given to us in this little cafe on the main high street in Lavenham. We just wanted a drink and a snack but the lunch options on the menu looked lovely - and the homemade cakes looked fabulous. We had hot chocolate and I had a scone and jam. My daughter enjoyed a toasted teacake. The hot chocolate was really good. Not too sickly sweet / just right. My scone was beautifully made the proper old fashioned way. I would have no hesitation in returning as soon as I can and will thoroughly recommend Chilli and Chives as a lovely place to meet, chat and enjoy traditional English fare in a convivial and friendly convivial atmosphere.
