We have been here before and had a lovely meal when Matthew and Philip were there, but sad to say this evening was not good, firstly my milk was off with my cup of tea, starters was ordered and prawn cocktail came with no sauce, so we had to ask for this enen though we were told by the young lady serving us that it had sauce on it ( it must have been invisible) as we could not see any. Then the brie had to be sent back as it was cold. I ordered the sausage and onion pie as I had this before and it was lovely, sadly it was so full of herbs you couldn't taste any sausage meat, all I all not a great evening.

I rarely leave poor reviews but this is an exception. The room was dated, with mismatched furniture, the beds super uncomfortable. We looked at the shower and decided to give it a miss. The great reviews of this property really surprised me until I realised that we were being charged £159 for a one night stay when the usual price is half of that. For £159, we were expecting a quality room, with quality toiletries and quality breakfast. But then, it was the weekend that Ed Sheeran was in town, so some blatant profiteering going on.
Breakfast was poor by anyone's standards. I asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried and was bluntly told: ' Not on a Sunday'. Fair enough, no eggs for me then but was offered nothing extra instead. Coffee was dumped unceremoniously on the table with a handful of UHT milks. I asked for fresh milk instead - you would have thought I was asking for caviar.
Unacceptable for the price we paid. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

Staff were very accommodating for party of 20 people for drinks and food. Hoping to sit outside but heavy rain forced us inside where tables were already laid out for us.

Nice pub offering a flat above. Location was good for us. The kitchen is a little under provisioned but other than that we had a comfortable stay and despite staying above a pub it was surprisingly quiet.

Liaised with Kate in advance to provide notice for 2 motorhomes and book a table for evening meal. The pub and car park were busy on our arrival at lunchtime. No spaces were reserved so we had to park up and wait for other patrons to move. Fortunately this did not take long. There is water hook up but this is at the back of the pub, so you'd have to fill up via buckets or with a water barrel. There is electric available for £10 a night, we just used our solar, battery and gas for our fridge. We enjoyed a few drinks in the pub garden and then some more back at our motorhome. The car park was mostly grass and quite level. A third motorhome also parked up. Our evening meal was superb. Ample portions and traditional fayre, which tasted great. The chocolate honeycomb homemade cheesecake was awesome. A good selection on beers and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The pub remained busy throughout the day, helped by the fantastic weather. At night the car park and play area were quiet and we enjoyed a good nights rest. I beleive the pub does a breakfast for guests staying in the accommodation, I am not sure if this extends to motorhome dwellers, as we had a leisurely breakfast outside our vehicles. We were very pleased to stay and eat at the Sorrel Horse and would very much recommend.

Beautiful pub, lovely food. Was lovely to see a rural pub so busy on a weekday. We will be back.
