I don't usually have problems at this post office and have used it successfully many times. However, I had a query today as there was an issue with a letter I previously sent out. Most of the staff are very nice and I have not had an issue with them at all, which is why I do not want to give this post office an unfairly low review. However, I was told by the Royal Mail helpline to go to the store and request they re-send my parcel for free as (in the words of the agent on the helpline) the form was filled in incorrectly, which has caused delays. Whilst I was not saying any of my own words to the manager who addressed my concern he seemed to take it as a personal attack and responded defensively and rudely. I advised I was just repeating what I was told and he belittled the intelligence of the helpline advisor, I don't think it's very polite to judge the intelligence of someone you haven't met so this was not a particularly good look to me.The letter to be sent was time sensitive so it was quite frustrating to have this issue arise and I ended up having to re-send it at an additional cost. I was given a claims form to deal with Royal Mail head office who will (hopefully) refund me for the original letter.I explained my frustration and that it was time sensitive (in addition to the helpline agent's advice) and instead of being treated with empathy and politeness, the manager seemed annoyed that I would dare even raise such a thing or suggest there was the slightest possibility of a mistake being made.I want to reiterate that I have had plenty of good experiences with the staff at this Post Office and they are kind, helpful people. This one experience, however, has soured my view in such a negative light that I will likely avoid this place if I can. It was not the information that I was given that frustrated me, if the only way to get compensation and send the letter is to fill in a claim form, get a refund, and simply resend the letter again, that's fine. The issue came from the way the manager held himself and his overall attitude. If I can offer some advice it would be to try and put yourself in the shoes of your customers when someone has a query or a problem. Try to approach every situation with the idea that they are not malicious towards you and just want their problem solved.

Rude and unhelpful. Asked for help as I was unsure of something and was met with rude, snarky and sarcastic comments by the person I was dealing with.

Usually good with sending parcels out. But went to collect an expensive parcel and they had somehow lost it. The only thing they told me they would do is speak to the manager who was working by himself on the day the parcel was delivered and that they would give me a call if they find it. But honestly this isn?t enough of an answer considering It will need to be raised with the company the item was ordered from to send another. Honestly worried they?ll lose it again. The lady wasn?t very nice or understanding either.

Would like to thank the Manager Steve Jordan for all his help with the filling in off my sister's passport application which had been a bit of a headache for one reason or another. Its my family's local post office and in all the years that we have been going there,we have always found him and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The shop also has great selection of cards and gifts too.

Avoid. Items get lost. Rudest man ever spoken to with zero customer service skills. If I could leave zero stars I would. Be prepared to be shouted at and patronised if you have a query

Went in today to tax and apply for a logbook for a car and the chap behind the counter could not have been more helpful.. unbelievable ethic and did all he could to solve the issue I had that couldn?t be done on-line... thank you so much Chantry Post Office as he could?ve said, can?t be done here, write to DVLA and I would have been happy with that but he refused to give in and sorted everything... first class A+

The other 2 reviews are now years old and I feel I must counter these experiences with our own. This post office is usually busy and provides a wide range of services. My wife and I support this local business and have had no problems. It has a small shop area that has a variety of novelties and a good, different, selection of greetings cards that suit us. We have always been served efficiently. Often there is a queue and kittle time to exchange niceties, but do if it's quiet. We've found that this small premises serves the community well and deserves a higher rating than one star!
