I contacted Nationwide via phone, to say I needed a letter stating they do not use your full name on your statements, savings etc.
I stated I need my full name claried and stamped/certified for official government visa.
I said I would be in on my limited lunch break to collect the letter no issue stated on the phone conversation.
I asked the letter state for security reasons my full name is not used on statements and saving accounts.
I asked if the letter could state my full name, address, D.O.B and time as a member.
I was told this could not be done as not factual?
I said I could bring in my passport. I was given one months statement and TWELVE MONTHS transaction record with a letter that said they are the same account (the document didn't even have matching full account or sort codes)
Also beyond useless as this is not useable for all my accounts held with nationwide.
I would like to Say Joshue Locker was writing a letter with the relevant information and was helpful and understanding, then the manager came over and interrupted and didn't listen or give me the information I needed (listed above) and took over, making me feel uncomfortable.
This was very unprofessional and took over 35 mins, causing me stress and impacting my working day.
I am so unhappy I have made a formal complaint with head office.

Trying to apply for a flexing current account. Keeps telling me to update my details. I have and they are correct. They are causing these problems so it will be too late for us to benefit from the £100 they are giving out. We missed out last time too! Nationwide are greedy. Why do you not just give to your members regardless of what accounts they hold and how many payments etc they make from it. We hold a lot with you but miss out just because we do not make payments or become a short term customers just to get the benefit. We have been with you 30 years.... shame on you nationwide! Shame on you!!!

Asked to show id and Went to open a flex account with a passport and the woman couldn't care less and said she couldn't do it. Branches closing. Poor opening times and they don't want you as a customer anyway. Lazy and not proactive. Visited 4.10 08.09.23 the earliest I could get there

I have just visited the Ipswich branch with my partner. A particularly unpleasant young man did everything possible to be as unhelpful as he could manage. I don't visit the branch often and I certainly won't be going again soon.

The staff here have always been exceptionally helpful and will do their best to assist however they can. Service is speedy and there's a number of ATM's inside the bank to save waiting in queues to deposit cheques.

The staff are extremely rude,specially the one at the entrance ,so rude that my partner has decided to move his savings to another bank.During the first lockdown he was forced to discuss his personal business in the street .Please have a bit of common sense some customer do not wish to discuss their thousands of pounds transactions in the street and instead would expect privacy and respect.It is a great shame as his Camden town branch is fantastic.

Last time I visited Ipswich branch I was welcomed by Sarah who was helpful and very very polite patient was left to use the self service machine to do paying in cash into my account I've known Sarah from Colchester branch

I think Nationwide is ok bank, however I do find other branches more efficient and helpful than Ipswich Branch.This company doesn't like customers, making complaints. If you make a complaint can result to your account being closed? ( which is pretty poor) I guess that's one way of keeping complaints down, there overal customer service statistics is inaccurate.Bank/Society should welcome complaints, it's how they learn and improve things. ( not every single person that makes a complaint, wants money. They don't have to give it to them compensation.I do think branches that are not the top of the lead board table, should seek advice on how they can improve in certain areas, with other branches. To give customers that wow factor experience? after all all under the same company and should help one other out. ( positive feedback)
