Poor experience, i book mot there, first they give me wrong appoiment date. Not friendly atmosphere. And long period for car repairing because they don't have any spareparts, i will cancel my halford premium membership

FIBBER!! AVOID!! MY husband took my car in for MOT on the 4th jan. 2024- failed due to rear fog light not working, KEVIN said they replaced the bulbs but still not working so they referred us to NACTON AUTO ELECTRICS LTD to have it fixed and then come back to them for a retest within 10 working days. Collected the car, yet when i tried to access the boot- it seemed to be jammed and I could not open it . Called them first thing in the morning the next day, as it was closing time when we collected it- informed KEVIN of the problem- i was asked to bring it back and that they will have a look. Called them around 5pm for an update and I was told that a fuse had blown up when they were testing the connections for the fog lights and that they will sort it and that we wont get charged for it. I called them again on Saturday 6th Jan. for an update- KEVIN SAID THAT THEY CANNOT FIX IT, apparently the wires were old, AND THAT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM and he will show us where the problem was. Went to HALFORDS HOLYWELLS to collect my car and I let my husband speak to them as there is no point arguing with a LIAR.KEVIN SAID TO MY HUSBAND THAT THEY CUT THE WIRES TO CHECK THE FOG LIGHTS PROBLEM AND SINCE ITS ALL BLACK wires WHEN THEY TRIED TO PUT IT BACK they must have connected the wrong wires together and then it blew up. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM, REALLY KEVIN!! We went to Nacton Auto Electrics and showed them what HALFORDS did, the guys said that they NEVER CUT THOSE WIRES-since HALFORDS DAMAGED THE WIRE HARNESS- the guys at Auto Electrics advised us to purchase a new set from Vauxhall as they cannot fix it in that condition and apparently HALFORDS ALWAYS DO THIS.RAYMOND the technician - I'm assuming you are the one who checked my car as your name was on that report given to us- WHY DID YOU CUT THOSE WIRES? DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING? NOT THE TIME TO PLAY MINIE MINIE MINIMOE ON THOSE WIRES!!KEEP THAT MOT FEE!! WE DONT WANNA HAVE BUSINESS WITH YOU ANYMORE. This branch is a DISGRACE to Halfords name!PROBABLY, YOUr MECHANICS OR TECHNICIANS NEEDS TO UPDATE THEIR TRAININGS!!word of the day; IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US!! by kevin(I did not cut those wires, did I?)

I have given my car for brake checking and as per the email they have asked me to bring my wheel tightening torque which I have kept it at the boots of my car ,I have informed the front desk representative the same thing ,Apparently,I have trusted my vehicle with them and I have collected it with no tightening torque and I have asked them multiple times personally to recheck and they gave me a very lame answer that ?THEY HAVE NEVER OPENED MY CAR BOOTS?I am wondering where my car wheel bolt tightening torque has disappeared and the gentleman is least bothered or concerned about it where he says his technicians has used their master key ,So my question towards them very simple if you have master keys then at the first place why the enquiry that ?please bring your vehicle wheel tightening torque ? and if the key was not there they won?t let you know or any concern call and this is breach of service,I am shocked to be honest.It?s really shameful act and I won?t recommend HALFORDS HOLYWELLS CLOSE branch to anyone and I have to purchase a new wheel tightening torque,Thank youHalfords team

That was my first time going at halfords garage in Ipswich. My brakes were making a squeaky noise. The team sorted out the minor problem free of charge, which am really grateful for. I will definitely be using them again. Thank you. J. Marimo

I have 0 complaints. My car was in for an MOT and out within a couple of hours without any faults. They did find something that had no bearing on the MOT whatsoever, not even as an advisory, to which they gave some advice and information to help guide my decision on when best to get the work done on the part. I am pleased with the service and experience, and I would definitely bring my car again.

If I could put 0 stars I would. Went in for an MOT as I stupidly joined the motoring club. I was told I needed to get a new suspension ball joint and 2 new tyres. It took over a month for them to complete the work as I was constantly told they had received the wrong part. 3 months later one of the tyres they had fitted broke off the car. I was told this was not anything they would be liable for due to the fact it had done over 3000 miles since. Just awful customer care as I was always chasing them to find out what was happening with my car, and then they have just wiped their hands clear of the terrible work they clearly did. Managed to book an Mot within 2 days. Carried out within 45 minutes. Unfortunately failed on 2 tyres. Passed on retest within 10 minutes.

Really disappointed, despite providing negative feedback after experiencing very unsatisfactory and incomplete a/c diagnostic check (no documentary results provided and no quote for remedial work as promised). I experienced something similar several years ago with Halford's when again they could not be bothered to reply to a negative feedback. Not somewhere I will be visiting again.

Booked in for over a month for an MOT and service. They never did the service because their incompetent workers ordered the wrong part for a different car they were working on which meant they couldn?t do mine all day. They also made up a bunch of things that was wrong with the car and they lied at all opportunities. They didn?t care that they had me wait for 4 hours before I could collect my car. They purposely say you have so many problems in order to get money from you. They don?t do MOT?s correctly, they leave the car sat in the cold and then do an emissions test to ensure it fails to then blame the catalytic converter. The other reviews will say the same. I?d heard bad things about halfords for mots and services but I decided to do it anyway because my mot was free. They gave an advisory for the clutch being too low or something ridiculous like that. An independent mechanic was shown the report of the mot and laughed as half of the things aren?t supposed to be on there. They wanted me to pay an extra £500 for the work to be done there and then when another mechanic said it would be about £200. Halfords charge £100 an hour for the labour. Not to mention, all the staff here were really rude and need lessons in customer liaison. Please do avoid going to halfords for any car problems you may ever have.

I did my MOT with them couple of days ago, failed (lamps not working, underinflated tyre?? ). I fixed the lighting with another garage, and go back for a re-inspection, now they tell me they found a scrape on a tyre, wires show, cannot pass MOT, need to change tyre (and offered a quote).I have no proof, so I pay for a new tyre, but I am very confident the scrape was not there when I dropped the car for re-inspection. They did not pick it at the MOT, the mechanic who fixed my car didn't pick it, and I didn't bump/scrape my car against anything in the two days.I will stop working with them.Service: Tires
