I see someone shoplifting or walking out without paying almost everytime I visit.
I visit the store only when I really have to now for my own personal safety :/

The co-op where I live has very little in food that I like although I shop there due to convenience. They keep stopping products I have liked so not much choice in my view

A small supermarket with a large assortment of goods, everything at hand

It?s ok?.. it is local but there is a rude member of staff he is tall has brown hair and wears glasses. When I was younger I was on my kiddy scooter just following my dad when he saw me and said something like get off your scooter. He didn?t even ask politely and i was only about what 7? Maybe even 5! He shouldn?t be allowed to be rude to customers and later on (not that day a couple years later) there was a girl buying alcohol and he had to press the button thingy to say she was the right age to buy it but, he said where is your ID (reasonable) but then she said she was a daily customer and she has brought alcohol before and has had no problem with it and he still asked. She was outraged. Will go but the man is rude.

Lovely shop but why do overpriced
February 2024 by Tricia bown
It has plenty of bits to top up cupboards, fridge and freezer but wouldn't be able to do a weeks shop in there. Some of their items are reasonable priced but others are more expensive than the supermarkets. It's handy as a local shop.

The Austin/Vernon Street store is by location the closest Co-op to the town centre in Ipswich. It's also the closest to the Suffolk East of England Co-op HQ in Wherstead, so you might think that they'd make some effort to run it properly. But on the contrary, it's the WORST managed store in Ipswich, if not the county! It sells remarkably little stock of its own Co-op brand, not even own brand staples such as Co-op99 Tea. Whenever there's a product on offer you can be assured that there's just a gap on the shelf here. The 'Reduced to Clear' pricing is just a joke, I've actually seen ENTIRE shopping trolleys brimful of bakery items all due to go out of code the very NEXT day, but each item ONLY reduced by 10p! Just what GORMLESS staff member actually WASTES an hour of their time labelling bread that'll be thrown in the bin the NEXT day, with ONLY a 10p REDUCTION? Not only that, but the trolley of bakery items to clear is always HIDDEN by staff in a corner of the alcohol section. If you leave that aisle without any bottles, or anything else because you're not enough of a MUG to buy a 10p reduced loaf of bread, staff all stare at you as if you're shoplifting! This is the most badly 'managed' Co-op I've ever been in with some of the most bone idle, rude staff as well. One of them even moaned about interrupting her gossip with her colleague reducing the bakery items by 10p each, & having to pick up the barcode reader in order to scan my Co-op Rewards membership card! Absolutely useless excuse for 'customer service', even by standards of cliquey Ipswich local staff!

If I was as ugly as the bald guy that served me , I?d probably be as rude as him as well ?
