My fourth time staying here. Excellent value, family run independent budget hotel. Spotlessly clean. Warm welcome as always from owners.Easy walking distance to football ground and two excellent local pubs (greyhound and arbor house) and town centre. Free parking outside an added bonus (other ?budget? hotels ie travel lodge and premier inn in town charge for parking)Microwave and tea and coffee facilities in rooms, plus a breakfast bag with porridge pot, croissant and fruit juice provided at check in for the following morning.

Excellent value for money and extremely impressed with the diligence shown by manager/owner. We were staying for business however even for a short trip, this charming little hotel is a real winner!

Great hotel well worth a visit.Everywhere spotless, staff very helpful especially arranging for us to leave the car whilst at a football match.The room was very nice , clean and warm, the beds were comfortable .Breakfast pack included in the price was lovely.Nothing at all to complain about, it was perfect, had a good night's sleep.Would definitely stay again.?

Fantastic family run hotel. Small and personal. Excellent for a visit to Ipswich when all you need is a warm and safe space to sleep. Use it every time I come to Ipswich. Walking distance to Ipswich city centre.

For me most important was location of this hotel. I came to Ipswich to run half marathon. Start and finish lines were in front of Ipswich Town FC stadium. Carlton Hotel was located only 12 minutes walk from the stadium. We received perfect welcome at reception. Definitely will come back next year if I will run here

This was an ideal hotel for me to stay in whilst I was at the university for 2 days. Very central location and was able to park my car at the hotel. The room was small but had all I needed for my stay. It was clean, had an en-suite, tv, microwave and coffee and tea making facilities, I was even provided with a complimentary breakfast bag for both mornings which set me up for the day! A very helpful and welcoming hotel owner who even went above and beyond to drive me to the university on one of the mornings when my taxi did not turn up! Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to have a quick stay for a business trip as was very good value for money.

Great price, decent rooms and by far the nicest staff I've ever seen in a hotel. The small complementary breakfast is also a nice bonus.

Lovely hotel, great reception on arrival and central location to town, also free parking which is a bonus. No restaurant but take-out breakfast of porridge pot, pastry and juice was included. Many restaurants within 5 mins walk, including spoons World buffetWalkability: Just a few mins walk into town, also walkable from station and waterfront

Been a frequent visitor here and is always my go to place in Ipswich. A real home away from home for me. Imran behind the desk is so courteous and friendly and is always willing to help me if I need any assistance. I think the rooms have been refurbished recently in the last few years and are always clean and tidy. A stones throw from the town centre and considering its location its price is very reasonable compared to the other town centre hotels which generally charge more for less facilities. It has free parking which is a massive bonus for me as it gets very expensive parking around town. It also has free WiFi to save me using up my data. A real gem. Would definitely recommend.
