Cute pub serving good quality hearty fare. The owners and patrons are welcoming and friendly which is more than can be said for other pubs in the area. In the winter they also have a lovely wood burner blazing and in the summer a cute outside patio garden.
Just realised this review was for the cock inn, polstead ????, BUT the cock inn, Halstead is also great too. They serve well lovely real ales at very reasonable prices, the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and they also have a great garden. Will definitely visit here again.

A great little old fashioned pub (I think it is a heritage pub).A pub of character with saloon and public. Great roast dinner too. Limited ales but all in good condition

Most disappointed after an exhausting day offering an event for 85 people in hadleigh to find we could not have a relaxing drink in the garden with a responsible child.
If children aren't able to go into the pub/garden you should display it outside. Should not have felt ashamed asking for a drink to sit in the garden to then be told to leave. Please change your signage.

Stopped here for a refreshing drink whilst out for a walk around Hadleigh.
The bar staff were very friendly, the served a good pint of cider and we sat in the rear outside seating area (a beer garden, but concrete).

I went there this afternoon with my wife and 13 year old granddaughter to watch our friend play music there. We got asked to leave because no children are allowed. This was 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, none of us could believe it. I will never set foot in the place ever again.

Didn't let my family in for a drink because I am under 18 years old. It was a Sunday afternoon. They show photos of food on google but obviously don't serve it if kids are not allowed to enter. Won't come back.

Whilst average sized interior, there is a large beer garden, that has shelter for those wanting to smoke/vape. Nicely refurbished inside and out. Very convenient location near the leasure centre.

Great little pub, a lovely band was on, so the pub was full. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait long to be served, great atmosphere we had a really good time xx

Great local... sports coverage and music, as well as a variety of cask ales.
Superb bar staff, lovely garden area. Unfortunately, no food available.

Really nice, friendly staff, allowed to bring well behaved dogs in. Pool table, sports on TV, live music. Beautiful outside garden, when weather is better. 2 bars.
