Afternoon tea for our friends special birthday. Wonderful service...nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent. Surroundings abd gardens stunning . We will definitely return.

Booked the hotel as a last minute birthday treat for my husband.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting.The bedroom was spotlessly clean. The food and service were great, the gardens are beautiful and my husband is still raving about his full body massage!
Above all the team of young staff were friendly, helpful and always smiling.
I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

We had a really enjoyable stay at The Marquis. The location is stunning - peaceful countryside all around, and the hotel itself has been beautifully renovated. It feels stylish, yet still really comfortable and welcoming.
The staff were great throughout, and the food was a real highlight. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into every detail. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break, a special occasion, or even just for a meal and a drink.

Food, location and service were excellent. Bit cheeky asking if we wouod like water on the table and then charging for it without mentioning there wouod be a cost for it.

Incredible rooms and amazing food!
Absolutely worth every penny. The staff are fantastic and truly elevate the whole experience.
100% worth the hour and a half drive. We?ll definitely be back!

One of my favourite places. My wife had asparagus followed by lobster. I had arancini followed by the beef wellington (outstanding). Tiny downside was being seated beside a really loud table of 16 who had no concept of personal space! Not the restaurant?s fault - I love this place.

We had drinks and food on the terrace overlooking the gardens , what a lovely setting, the food and service was excellent as you would expect. Will definitely go again but it seems surprisingly not very busy considering the quality of the place.

We were disappointed by the threadbare upholstery & dirty vinyl seating, dried on food & water rings on the tables of the main restaurant. I?m sure we could have moved but we had already relocated from outside due to the weather & honestly the ambiance was gone at this point.
The staff are very good, the Maître d' was especially entertaining.
The food was aesthetically very good but struggled to balance the bolder ingredients. Some of the deserts were frankly tasteless.
From a value perspective our bill was approx £170pp & we didn?t feel on this occasion it represented good value.

Have visited a few times this year the setting and the food is wonderful. My only concern would be the service. It isn?t great even when the restaurant isn?t busy asked for a pint of ice 3 times as the wine wasn?t that cold and it took forever not really what you would expect when a party of 4 adults and two children spending in excess of £550. Requested some salt and pepper to be given two peppers and no ketchup had to ask again. Minor things to some I suppose but annoying as we took friends and it did come across as slightly poor ??
