Absolutely shocking experience. Two young girls were sold raw sausage rolls and when they asked for help, they were told they ?shouldn?t have bought them? and refused a refund. Other customers even checked the rolls, agreed they were raw, and kindly gave the girls money to buy food elsewhere. When I went back in as an adult, the man working there called the girls liars, argued, and even tried to pass off a fresh sausage roll as theirs. He laughed when I said the girls felt intimidated. Extremely unprofessional and intimidating behaviour. Only 1 star because he eventually gave me the refund.

Lovely food and drinks in a lovely setting at a reasonable price. Staff were extremely helpful with accommodating kids and supplying ice water in our flasks on such a hot day. Play area train for kids to climb on right there by the cafe too.

Very nice place to visit for anyone with a railway interest and the carpark is only £3 for the day and there are no steps so easy access abilities.

Visited Platform 1 Cafe for one of their summer food truck evenings and had a fantastic time. Tonight?s guest was My Thai Chef ? absolutely delicious (I?ve reviewed them separately!).
The location is stunning ? you sit overlooking the old castle, which makes for a great atmosphere. There?s a solid choice of drinks, from local beers and wine to soft options. The owners were super friendly and clearly care about creating something special.
Perfect spot for a relaxed evening with great food, drinks, and views. Highly recommend supporting this lovely little place.

Good selection of freshly prepared good quality food. Friendly, efficient service in pleasant surroundings. They even cooked bacon especially for our dog.

Really poor service . Our order was forgotten. Ok it happens but we were told ten minutes . They continued to serve later orders . In the end I cancelled the order it was only just being prepared and they were still serving orders put in after us. I think an hour and a half for two jacket potatoes was ridiculous.
They even took the money for drinks and only refunded what we hadn't had.
We went into haverhill for lunch in the end.
One to avoid really poor service.

If I could give this a lower score I would, waited 50 minutes for 2 over priced and very average sandwiches. When I said to the staff ?I realise it?s not your fault, not enough of you on but please tell the manager 50 minutes for this is pretty poor? no apology just walked off!!!
