What a wonderful meal! The Poke Bowls were exceptional and the tastiest vegetarian meal I have had in a long time and the kebab was uniquely presented and tasted great! First time eating here before a film at the AbbeyGate Theatre and I know it?s going to become a regular favourite of ours!

Fantastic meal in a beautiful setting. Small but well thought out menu, excellent value and outstanding quality. Service was great. Couldn?t fault it would highly recommend.

Great place to go to for pre-performance dinner at the Abbeygate Cinema. Food was excellent and the service couldn't be faulted.

We held our intimate wedding reception here in their private function room.
Room was the perfect size and location is brilliant.
The value for money is second to none! The quality and selection of food was amazing, we had a set menu to choose from prior to the event for the adults and children, the selection on both menus was brilliant and we were all very happy with every dish served.
Ontop , the staff were also brilliant, attentive, efficient, friendly and welcoming.
Really over the moon with every aspect, and we have already decided to return for our 1 year anniversary as enjoyed the venue so much!

Stopped by for a group meeting and due to time of day alot of town cafes were closing whereas Cinema cafe / bar was open.
Conveniently placed and nice setting, this is a relaxed place for catching up with family or friends, or waiting to see a movie

Absolutely delicious Sunday roast, I went for the Sunday lunch and cult classic cinema offer £30 for 2 courses and the film at the Abbeygate. The dinner was wonderful, beef with yorkshire pudding, potatoes, cauliflower cheese, asparagus, tenderstem broccoli, red cabbage, roasted carrot & parsnip, fabulous thick gravy. Sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel and ice cream for pud. Really good value for money, quality and quantity. Staff very friendly and polite. Surprisingly the place wasn't very busy. I'll definitely be back!

Usually think this place is great but last week our burger bun was frozen solid! as we couldn?t really eat it the waitress apologised and offered us a dessert instead, but we?re charged for both when we got the bill. Also the men?s toilets were absolutely filthy ? disappointing

We had our wedding lunch here on 23rd December, the chef and manager were incredibly accommodating and we had a superb long lunch. The food was amazing and the staff very attentive. We hired the upstairs room which suited the 30 guests very well. Thank you it was amazing and the guests are still commenting on the food!

Ordered the burger which came out with a completely frozen bun. After sending back it was returned warm but rock solid like concrete so completely inedible. Waitress told me they don?t use frozen bread but my bun had ice on it and was frozen solid. Being absolutely starving I did eat the meat which was lovely, fries were cold after going back and coming back out. My husband ordered the chicken burger which had a completely different type of bun and was fine. It was good he said but he had finished eating several minutes before my meal was returned. Overpriced

I would not go back if you paid me. The waiting staff were lovely and I couldn?t fault them, they did their best but the food was very expensive rubbish. The chef couldn?t even accommodate a simple request of food (egg and chips) due to food allergies and there being nothing on the menu that was suitable. They wanted me to pay £8 for a poached egg !!! I had 9 chips which cost £4 and the oil they triple cooked them in left a disgusting taste in the mouth like nothing I have ever had before. This wasn?t the first time either as we had tried the restaurant 2 weeks before and got the same disgusting food issues, but that time I tried the GF pasta dish which was made for Tom Thumb I think and was dreadful for the price, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried again and it was just as bad if not worse. I don?t think I have ever had food as bad as this anywhere in my life or been treated so badly by the chef who was the one stating the poached egg would cost me £8. I can not recommend this restaurant (loosely using that word) to anyone for anything. Avoid at all costs, there are far far better actual restaurants in Bury St Edmunds that you can go to and get much better food and better value for money.
