I do not understand why this place is popular, much akin to a motorway services in the woods, overpriced and bland pre-packed food served from a canteen. Will not return.

What another lovely visit to this cafe for lunch today. The food, Pork Roll and Toastie, were superb and great value for money. We came today just for the food and we highly recommend.

Visited the cafe with my young family today. My son and partner both picked a small packaged chicken wrap (same size ones you'd find at Tesco, coop ect) and I chose a packaged plain cheese sandwich from the fridge, just bread, butter and cheese. There was no prices for the sandwiches or wraps on display. I asked for a receipt and to my shock my sandwich was £4.50! And the chicken wraps £5.50 EACH. I felt totally robbed. Had there have been prices on the items I wouldn't have got them. It's also quite embarrassing as a customer to have to put items back or question the price at the till when you've got a que of people behind you and a group of people infront waiting for their orders. Really annoying and I don't see how those prices are justified. I did make a worker aware that everything has a price on display except the sandwiches, paninis and wraps.. Bit of a coincidence I think considering how overpriced they are. My advice to anyone visiting is to bring your own packed lunch and save your money. Not worth it.

Crazily expensive, which you wouldn?t mind if the service was exceptional, but it?s not. Staff are rude, inattentive and disorganised. Steer we?ll clear and bring your own lunch

Cafe and pantry had decided to close early. Luckily the little coffee place was still open. Bought a massively overpriced panini but the coffee was ok and the cake was good.

Was served by a very young girl on the tills with thick black eyeliner Saturday 20th July, she was very unwelcoming and unenthusiastic about serving customers. I asked her about dietary requirements in the ice cream as I'm currently pregnant and she was very unhelpful and treated me like I was a hinderance. Such a shame as so many young people are looking for summer jobs and you've hired someone that could not care less about customer satisfaction or care. She also asked me to move to one side in an abrupt manner when waiting for my ice creams. Service with a smile wouldn't go a miss either wouldn't revisit this shop bad representative of your company.

Plowman lunch/board was very poor. Cold & hard bread roll & butter. Small pork pie some wet lettuce & cheese. Coffee made by staff who are not trained in coffee making unfortunately . Have eaten previous same outcome. Such a great location with many travellers. They deserve better quality food & drink.

We visited Go Ape on a corporate day out, and asked the High Lodge Cafe team to sort us with hot food after our activities, in addition to hot and soft drinks during the afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble, including a couple of last minute changes. Super easy to communicate with, food was excellent, and many in our large group commented on how we would recommend them to others! Special thanks to Hazel and her team working that day :)
