If you are a tourist in Beccles....then yes, visit, as the building is lovely and the garden seating area is quite special but....
Too expensive for service you now get.
We used to come regularly but after the third visit where the tea came out and then a long wait for a scone, then you know it's not just a one off problem they have, and it wasn't even a busy time.

I felt afternoon tea lacked flair not enough choice with the sandwiches I have never had an afternoon tea with only one choice each.
I felt the presentation was poor lots of lettuce spread over 2 layers of the stand
The waitress?s were helpful but the email I received from the manager was unhelpful for customer service.

Lovely food and atmosphere. This cafe is high end and expensive but very good quality food and service. We sat outside in the garden for lunch. I would highly recommend and return.

Talks a good game.
Went for lunch with my family. The menu looked really good. We ordered two southern fried chicken loaded fries (from the specials), 2 kids pasta and some fish cakes.
The loaded fries were awful.
- The fries themselves were partially cooked and raw.
- The southern fried chicken was of a really poor quality.
- The whole skillet thing they were served in was a pool of grease.
The kids cheesy pasta was swimming in grease.
The fish cakes were good.
The food is massively overpriced aswell. At just over £14 each for the loaded fries, your expecting to get something decent but that's not what we received today.

Nice place, I went for the sugar pit pork which sounded nice, however not sure what to expect found it to be very tough & could have done with at least a steak knife to cut through it. Didn't want to make a fuss at the time as it was my wife's birthday & she was enjoying her Wagu burger.
This is my experience only my wife's would read different.

What a great find. Our usual place for lunch wasn?t doing food today so we decided to try here. SO pleased we did!
The place has a great feel to it and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The menu seemed to have something for everyone and reasonably priced.
Even though it was extremely busy our drinks & food were delivered really promptly and was delicious.
Will certainly be back. Thank you x

Location isn?t hard to get to it?s the parking that is problematic but the building is beautiful inside and out. Coffee is alright a good blend but the chocolate is too rich for me but it could be nice for others. Breakfast I ordered was the big local which was two of everything with the Cost of £13. Sausage is exactly like how mom use to make and the bacon is nice, personally I do like a bit of grill on them so I?m a bit more biased got a lucky extra instead of two. Perfectly cooked fried eggs runny just how I like em. Classic good beans with the ingenious idea of putting them in a small tortilla. Mushrooms I immediately polished off super good. Never been a fan of hash browns but these were a good change using a more sweeter onion. This was all complimented with two bits of toast only downside was the ketchup but that can be overruled as it?s natural ketchup as I?m so use to the Heinz corpo stuff. Overall this was actually really really great and would be definitely coming again

We have visited this cafe a few times over the year, previously the sandwiches were good. However, today, my wife ordered the Reuben, the beef was dry, fatty and chewy. My bacon brie and cranberry was fine.
My wife ate half of her sandwich, when we went to pay I informed the waitress and asked if the chef had changed, she apologised but that doesn't resolve the problem with a sandwich that wasn't enjoyable.
I was going to buy cakes to take home but after that decided against it.
It appears there is no point bringing an issue to their attention so therefore we will not return. It's a shame because we loved it there.
Service from the waitress was excellent.
Finally, just checked with the menu and it did not come with the cheese.
Shouldn't have to pay full price for something that is dreadful.
Just received a response from the owner.
My wife has ordered the Reuben on two previous occasions, this time it was dry, fatty and chewy, it did not come with cheese, in addition we were charged for the Reuben. It was not the fault of the waitress and we were charged for the Reuben. So suggesting we didn't receive the correct sandwich does not help, also if that was correct you have overcharged us.
We will not be returning and your response at the time of bringing this to your attention and to my review has given us no reason to do so.

I have been here before and enjoyed it, But not this time , there?s not a lot of choice for vegetarians. I had a vegan melt, this was not very nice, soggy bread, £12.50 and extra £3.95 for Chips what a rip off, I did not enjoy. My friend had a Egg + Cress sandwich (not much cress) £10 . A plane hot chocolate with out milk £4.75 and a small bottle of coke £3.80. The place was cold, and not very comfortable and so over priced, all came to £35. Will definitely not be returning. If this is the going rate more people will be eating at home as it?s just ridiculous. The staff are very friendly,I hope they get good wages.
