Fantastic food, lovely surroundings, a great place to stop and eat. You can browse the antique shop out the back which is quite well stocked.

Excellent cafe situated in the centre of Thorpeness. There's a car park at the rear plus a antiques and curios shop attached. At the front, overlooking the pond, is a good sized seating area with parasols at each table. Which were a necessity today as the heat was extreme ?. Dogs are welcome inside or out and there's water available.
Food wise there's an excellent selection from home made sausage rolls and sandwiches cakes and delicious scones. Or for the hungrier 'luncher'... there's more substantial food. I opted for home made Mackrell pate, Beetroot salad, and crusty bread. The pate was full of chunky fish pieces and delicious ? complimented by the pickled Beetroot salad and green leaves. I thoroughly enjoyed it and washed it down with a local Adnams beer ( the cafe is licenced ). The food is ordered at the counter, giving me the chance to look at the yummy food and make a good choice. Then the lovely staff serve to table.
I would highly recommend.

A group of us had lunch at The Kitchen a few months ago. The food is generous and well priced although the halloumi toasties were a little messy and more of a sandwich than a toastie. Still a nice spot for a bite to eat before a walk along the beach to Aldeburgh.

After seeing the video on Facebook we decided to make a hours drive to try their main menu and cakes.
we were sorely disappointed with what was advertised as a ploughman's special it would not have filled up a small stable boy and the price they charged we were expecting a true ploughman's lunch,
after spending £47.00 on 2 x ploughman's 1 x chips 1 x kids cheese sandwich with chips a pot of tea and 2 x Pepsi we decided to leave cakes.

Good vegan menu, dogs allowed, free parking in village. Had vegan avacado and tomatoes on sourdough bread, pea hummus and vegan sausage roll. Choice of oat and soya milk, also has vegan cherry scones. Plenty of tables inside and out. Well worth the trip.
Parking: Parking on streets in village or paid parking.
