We called in for lunch following a recommendation from a local ? great recommendation.
The pub dates back to 1832 and there is a really traditional feel to the rooms. We loved the die-cast models and were thrilled to spot a display case full of models of Cardiff trams, trolleys and buses through the ages ? just before we left for Cardiff!
The old advertisements and posters outside and inside the Gents were worth inspection.
Our sandwiches were freshly made and really lovely. Jacket potatoes and home-made soups were also available for lunch.
I wished I still drank alcohol and could try the local beers, which looked very drinkable. I settled for Guinness Zero.
The seating was very comfortable, with lots of cushions, which really help my severe back problems.
I?d have been happier without the music, but it wasn?t over loud.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Typical traditional village pub..
Called in for meal while passing through Whittington on my canal boat
Basic pub menu, all the usual items. I had the steak very nice tender and cooked to how I requested
Variety of ales and really excellent friendly service.

We stopped on our way back from Drayton Manor to our hotel as we spotted this pub on our way out in the morning. Glad we stopped on the way back. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was great, service was great. Parking was a little tricky, but we found a space.

Stumbled across this pub whilst out on a sunny evening drive.
Made to feel really welcome by staff and locals, what a lovely atmosphere.
Food was delicious.
This is definitely a pub I will be returning to in the very near future.

Excellent lunchtime meals in lovely little Whittington pub, which is clearly a popular venue. Very good service from helpful and friendly staff. Ideal stop off point for walks in the area.

Just dropped it for a drink and to meet up with family. Wonderful unspoilt pub, warm friendly atmosphere and good service. Will be revisiting soon.
