We visited The Greyhound Inn with high hopes, but unfortunately, the experience was hugely disappointing from start to finish.
We started with the nacho sharer, which was served with dips that tasted no better than the pre-packaged ones you?d pick up from Morrisons. I initially ordered the vegetarian ?boat bowl,? which was completely bland and, to make matters worse, served in what looked like an old El Paso ?Stand N Stuff? bowl. The dish arrived cold and even had a hair in the salad.
After raising this with the staff, I opted for the halloumi burger instead. I was shocked to see it priced at £21, but assumed for that price it would be something special. Unfortunately, it took over 30 minutes to arrive, and when it did, I couldn?t believe what I was served. It was literally just a solid block of halloumi cheese, completely uncoated, slapped in a bun with a handful of pre-packaged salad and no sauce whatsoever. It felt lazy, uninspired, and absolutely not worth the money.
The service was slow throughout, and based on our experience, I?d strongly recommend reading through other negative reviews before booking here, as many of them seem to reflect exactly what we experienced.
To charge £21 for a ?burger? that?s just a block of cheese with no flavour, no thought, and no care is outrageous. The pricing here compared to the quality of food is, frankly, laughable

Booked on a Sunday to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. First concerns were that the place was completely empty at 1pm on a Sunday. We were given menus but there was no Sunday Roasts as they apparently don?t do these anymore, despite the website saying they do and advertising outside the pub. For the price, the food was very poor, undercooked batter and tasteless food. When asked how our food was, I politely spoke to the waitress about the quality which she said she?d go speak to the chef. The response she passed back was that they had apparently been under heat lamps so had gone a bit soggy. Strange as they weren?t actually cooked properly in the first place. Unfortunately no offer of any money off. The girls working the front were polite and friendly but for nearly £50 for two people with only main meals and a soft drink each, the food was overpriced and underwhelming. As a local, this place always used to be amazing but I?m sorry to say we won?t be returning any time soon.

Went here because of four in a bed. Nice backgarden area but the tables were basically collapsing. Four connect and a good quality pool table. Prices were crazily overpriced. Didn't order any food but saw something at a crazy £42. The cola was tasteless and basically flat.

We visited after watching 4 in a bed.
I was disappointed? outside was scruffy, the bench i sat on gave me little confidence.
Food is 20~40 a meal. £17 for a glass of wine flat larger and flat coke. The door on the main entrance doesn?t fit and has scuffed all paint off wall? went to the gents and the floor is at two different heights? no warnings almost broke my back.
Women?s toliets weren?t clean.
If were going to pay premium prices id expect premium public house. It May of been on 4 in a bed but id take 5 and just stay in bed instead. Very disappointed.

Nice pub, nice staff. Nachos were awesome. Good beer and some stuff to entertain the younguns so it's a win from me

We stopped here for dinner on our way back to our bnb whilst on holiday. The pub looked like a nice place and the staff were friendly.
However the food was very underwhelming. The fish was OK but the chips were oily, reheated and hard. We were the only people eating here at the time so I'm not sure if that's why the quality wasn't on par. I hate to leave a bad review but given the prices I expected more, if it was a budget place i probably wouldnt have minded as much. There are cheaper pubs with much better quality food in the area.

Friendly pub in the Peak district. They brew their own beers but at £5.10 was a little pricey but better than the usual large brewers .

Drab, miserable food.
Fish and chips - wet, slimy, floppy fish served with wooden chips, £20. A veggie burger we could have used to prop up the wobbly table, with wood chip(ping)s - £21. Nachos straight out of an Odean lobby, and priced as such at £8.50. Utterly terrible. Would not recommend.

We visited as a group after a lovely morning hiking to Thor's Cave. Absolutely starving we found a close pub for some good pub food. The images on Google do not in any way match the food that is actually served here. After ordering food at 1pm in a pub only at half full capacity we did not expect to have to wait 55 minutes until we received our meals. When the food did eventually arrive it left a lot to be desired. We were told that they had run out of chips but we're cooking more. So they had shared what they had got among us...each meal came with about 8 chips on the plate and they were old/stale. The beef burger (£21!!) was rubbery, overcooked and tasteless. Even struggled cutting it with a knife! The fish was watery and the batter was dark brown and oily. A child in our group asked for her chips to be cheesy chips (which is on the menu) and they literally put a portion of grated cheese on the side for her and didn't melt it at all. The sausages didn't taste of anything and the broccoli disintegrated in your mouth it was so over cooked. Considering the expensive price of each dish - all around £21 - you would expect much better food. We only ate what we could because we were so hungry and had waited so long. To top it off when we were ready to leave and pay the bill the waitress came over with two massive bowls of chips at least 20 minutes after we'd all stopped eating! Hilarious! We told the waitress how disappointed we were and she shrugged, said sorry and that she would tell the chef.
A disappointing end to what was a great weekend. We wouldn't recommend the food here or the service, and spent the drive home wishing we'd asked for a refund.

Food not great, starters just ok, the burger was reheated and dry and covered in cheese, like rubber, table across from us had same issue, burger wasn?t eaten and wasn?t asked why? Oh well!
