Booked a table in advance only to be told I couldn?t have it when we arrived, my mother is 92 and very unsteady on her feet and they expected her to climb on to a barstool to be able to sit at a table. Absolute farce, manager didn?t care about us, only wanted to know how we booked so he didn?t lose custom in the future. Very poor customer service. Food was poor, greasy and out in minutes after ordering, nothing cooked properly or nicely. There are other pubs with better food and cheaper prices on drinks, etc. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Atmosphere was great, but the service was average and the food was really below standard. Ordered the curry that had 3 small pieces of chicken in a sauce that didn't taste like curry. Arrived without the Naan and poperdoms. After I asked about the Naan and the poperdums the waitress came back with 2 poperdums and said the Naan was finished so they gave me 2 poperdums - which was part of the menu anyway (didn't check that it was okay with me or if I would like something else) . My 5 year old son ordered his meal with a garden salad and it arrived as old lettuce leaves and red onion. No cucumber or tomato in the salad. My father's double cheese burger was so bad that he didn't finish it. To seal the deal in service, they deducted money for the meal twice. Which will only be paid back next month and only after we had to enquire why we paid for the meal days after we paid.

Went to the penny black today. Me and my sister go in every week and order a chicken sub and a chicken wrap. Went in today ordered the same. A fish sub was bought out. So we said we didn't order fish. the waitress who has always been very lovely took it back to the manager, to which the manager came over to the table in a very rude manner and argued with us for 5 minutes saying "she said fish" over and over again. To which I explained she wouldn't have ordered fish, I don't eat fish,. He said she did say fish and he read it back to her and she said yes. Whether he miss heard what she said and read it back and she said yes not knowing what he had said I don't know but she definetly ordered chicken. He then proceeded to say well you've ordered it so that's it. Walked off and started slagging us off at the bar. Very rude, poor customer service to stand and argue with a paying customer. He's obviously in the wrong job. The waitress came back and changed it in the end by this time I was too wound up to even enjoy it anyway. Complete waste of time and won't bother again.

Big shout out for Jamie this morning in the penny Black Tamworth staffs
All on his own and delivering excellent service . Talk about a one man band. And of course whoever was in the kitchen. Wonderful service. Will definitely be going back.
