Use this shop for cake decorating items (mainly sourced from elsewhere) up until recently have managed to find what I need. It seems quite poorly stocked just recently and simple things like colourings etc are extremely sparse. I also popped to the Northfield store which seemed to be the same. This has left me wondering if they are reducing the range permanently as it's been this way for a while? Disappointing.

Alright, let's turn our satirical lens to the world of arts and crafts.
A Pilgrim's Progress Through Hobbycraft
Welcome, weary soul, to Hobbycraft, a cathedral of creative ambition and, ultimately, half-finished projects. One enters this magnificent emporium not with a list, but with a dream. A dream of a perfectly crocheted blanket, a hand-painted ceramic jug, or a scrapbook that will, for once, be finished before the memories have faded.
The aisles, a sprawling testament to mankind's desire to make things, are a treacherous journey. You navigate a treacherous landscape of glitter that will haunt your clothes for weeks, a towering citadel of yarn in a thousand different shades, and a section dedicated entirely to the subtle art of pom-pom creation. You grab a basket, a flimsy plastic vessel that will soon groan under the weight of an alarming number of items you absolutely, definitely, need for a project you haven't even conceived of yet.
The true genius of Hobbycraft, however, lies in its ability to convince you that all of this is not only necessary but also easy. The brightly colored packaging promises that with just a few simple steps, you too can create a macrame wall hanging that looks like it belongs in a trendy Brooklyn loft. The reality, of course, is that you will leave with a basket full of supplies, a vague sense of dread, and a new-found respect for anyone who can actually knit a scarf.
It is a beautiful lie, a magnificent monument to our collective delusion that we have the time and talent to become a crafting guru. And for that, we must applaud it.

Seems to major more on wedding craft items and vinyl cutting machines. Not enough basic crafting materials. Still, nice to browse round and good in a crafting emergency

I don't know about other hoppycraft shops but one in Tamworth doesn't have a very good range of wool or yards to choose from.
