Our 1st time eating here, we went as a pre party meal for my sons 18th. It's a very nice looking restaurant throughout, the food was excellent & the service was top notch.
The only thing I would say is to make sure you book a table as it does get very very busy on a Friday/ Saturday night & it can be a struggle to hear each other's conversations especially if sat on the mid floor area. Obviously this is a credit to how popular the restaurant must be & is not a complaint by any means.
My son usually goes to the Pasta di Piazza in Newcastle town centre, which he says is a lot more sedate & intimate. So I think we might give that a try next time lol!

Came in this evening for tea
Ordered a lasagne and meatballs and also some sides.
The sides were perfectly fine but the main dishes were sloppy and flavourless. The lasagne was sloppy. The meatballs were fatty and grizzly . My partner has been sick since the meal.
We did eat some of the food and got out as fast as we could. The chef needs to learn to use salt and pepper and not so many herbs.
The service was good and the place was clean.

I recently visited and unfortunately had a disappointing experience due to the service. The waiter was quite rude and dismissive, which really affected our meal. Instead of being helpful, he made upsetting comments about me implying my boyfriend is ? taking one for the team? which deeply upset me . It made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout our visit.
I hope management can address this issue because the food was decent, but the service left a bad taste in our mouths. I won?t be returning unless I hear that improvements have been made, and adequate action is taken with this staff member.

I was at this restaurant tonight and couldn?t believe what I heard. A waiter had came to a table of a young couple and said to the young man ?are you taking one for the team? after looking at the young woman. I was appalled by this behaviour. Not only this, but he also came over and asked if they?d like the desert menu which they both replied yes. The waiter looked at the lady and said ? of course you do?. I cannot believe the way he spoke to her. It is completely disgusting and action should be taken. I will never go back after hearing the way they treat their customers.

If I could, I would have given a minus figure to this review
First of all, I have visited this restaurant many times and always enjoyed the food and ambience. I have even commented positively to friends. However, this will not happen again!
My daughter and I visited Pasta Piazza, Stone on Thursday, 13th February. We had been to Derby shopping for a bridal dress for my daughter and decided to call at our favourite restaurant to end the evening. We booked on-line for 8:45pm. Due to unforeseen traffic restrictions, we did not arrive until 8:50pm. We were not asked initially, as is normal, for a drink - in fact I had to beckon to the waitress after 20 minutes for her to take our order. We also ordered 2 glasses of wine with our order.
The drinks arrived promptly but after another 20 minutes had lapsed we were starting to wonder where our food was. As we had not had anything to eat since lunchtime, we tried to save our wine for our meal as I was driving and didn't want to go above the limit.
It was about 9:30pm when a very embarrassed bar gentleman came to our table. He said he "didn't know how to say this, so I shall simply say it". He continued to say that the chefs had all gone home and the kitchen was now closed. He had rang the chefs who said that they were half-way home and would not now be returning to the restaurant. He said the 2 glasses of wine, we had already ordered, would be "on the house". He walked away.
Obviously in view of the time we were too late to go to any other restaurant, we did not want to finish off the"free" wine for obvious reasons and we got up to leave. On the way out I asked the embarrassed bar man if I could speak to the Manager. He said that he too had gone home but promised to speak to him the next day. I left my telephone number and email address.
It is now over 2 weeks and I am still waiting for some acknowledgement. Not even an apology or explanation has been received. I find this attitude to be very disappointing indeed and needless to say we will certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone again and will not re-visit again in the future.

Good value ?

Quiet restaurant on an early evening but service felt attentive. Naturally lit main dining room, seated on a round table that comfortably accomodated a party of 5.
Chose to go straight into the mains, Risotto Mediterraneo with tomato, monkfish, prawns, garlic and basil. Fried monkfish with a bronzed exterior and melt in the mouth middle. The garlic and basil flavours were balanced against the tomato and seafood elements. Fundamentals of italian cooking paired done well with the monkfish highlighted as the star of the show made for a very enjoyable main. Near the end of the dish, oil had settled at the bottom of the bowl making for a questionable mouthfeel.
A lemon cheesecake was on the specials board. Tart lemon flavours cutting through the sweet biscuit base, brought together by the consistency of a good cheesecake.
Nothing blew me away but the meal was certainly enjoyable. Mid-range prices for what it is. Definitely worth a visit if you're local.

Had a Calzone and it came out lukewarm at best. You could see that the cheese had not been melted at any point. Marinara sauce was also cold. It tasted good but was nowhere near hot.

We had the most amazing meal here today. The food was absolutely amazing and everyone was so friendly and helpful, the manager made a real fuss of my mom and made her feel so special. Can only recommend!

Impromptu date night
Staff too interested in messing about with each other - the younger servers may as well have not been there as they were more interested in chatting than serving.
Food was AMAZING.
Had to ask for more drinks as servers walked past several times without asking even though we had empty glasses
Empty glasses were left on the table when more were delivered
By the time we were asked for dessert we decided to just pay the bill and leave
The younger staff really let this venue down

Came in last night and we didn?t have a table booked and a young lad managed to fit us in on top floor with him although it was really busy and then proceeded to give us the best service, made the kids laugh and entertained us, he suggested the burratta from the specials menu and it was the best thing I ever had. Please applaud the chefs ?. Thank you for that young gentleman, we will be visiting again.
