“Having got to the point where reaching for my glasses before even getting out of bed and despite opticians reassuring me that my eyes would stabilise for a while ( which they and ) the decision to have eye surgery was one I made with some trepidation. From the first meeting at Optical Express Stoke to the lens replacement in Manchester and subsequent follows ups back in Stoke I have been very impressed with the level of service and friendliness of all involved. Any concerns and questions were answered and any fears allayed. 4 months on and I have just been discharged . Any fear about pain during surgery was misguided and nothing that a couple of ibuprofen and a good nights sleep ( even with eye shields ) couldn’t put right. Dryness was my biggest concern but I was given plenty of drops and advice to deal with this and it and is improving all the time. Driving at night was initially difficult due to the glare from headlights but again this is almost unnoticeable now. From someone who couldn’t see without going cross eyed without her glasses and everything was blurry and indistinguishable to someone who has typed this review on her iPhone without having to blow up the page is amazing. As many have said before one of the best decisions I’ve ever made . Thank You to all of the lovely staff for your help advice and care x”

“Probably the best service I've received in an opticians. Everything explained clearly. Younger lad called Charley helped me chose my frames and was one of few people over the 30yrs I've worn glasses, to listen to what I wanted and find frames the match that. As a result I was happier to spend more to try thinned lenses which I've considered for a while but not previously purchased.”

I phoned them up for an emergency eye tests. They fitted me in that day. What a lovely lady . Done ALL the tests and phoned the eye hospital to get me an appointment. No. Even dealing with paper records, I was seen on time (early), with good humour.Optician managed my non digital eye test expeditiously and with good grace.Needed new specs, confused the staff with my dithering but they coped admirably.Can't rate them highly enough.”

“I thought the optometrist was too robotic; she did her job well but; she was asking me too quickly to choose between 1 or 2, not giving me enough time to decide definitely my choice. I don't expect a full blown conversation with anyone but; a "How are you this morning" wouldn't go amiss, I just didn't feel relaxed. Then I thought the total cost was a bit OTT, I chose frames for £100, and after having the charge for grinding thinner, and having a tint; the total cost was £210, less 10%, (£189) I was a staggered to say the least, (being a pensioner). The young lady who actually took the order and dealt with the sale, was absolutely super; she knew how to converse with customers, and was very professional all round.”
