I needed to pop my head in today to do a change of address and pay some money in. Nick who helped me was superb, not only did he help with the change etc but also created my online profile which I am capable of doing but it saves me a job lol.

Shocking bank. Allways a problem & whenever I come into store to correct my issue you just get told they can?t do anything and the only option is to contact them over the phone! Pointless the bank being open in my opinion!

My partner went in to cancel his ard as it had gone missing. The lady sat me and my partner down and cancelled the card and then said we could expect the new one in the post. It would come and then the pin would come in a separate letter. So over a week later he has rung CoOp and they haven't even issued the card apparently! Hes been waiting ten days and now they're telling him another possibly 8 until it comes!! What a joke, they said it had been sorted and clearly it hasn't. Hes had to go with no access to my money now for 10 days and now could be up to 18!
Funnily enough same happened with my dad's card when he was expecting a new one.

Had an issue with my account, reported on a Tuesday and the issue was resolved on the following Saturday .
Staff are a credit to the bank, friendly, empathetic and supportive.
I have been a customer for 30 years and have always received a first class service.
Hanley Branch you should be proud of yourselves. Thank you.

Everytime I have problems I try to call you never ever get any answer and most of the time you don't help at all I'm going switch banks this is one of the worst banks I've ever had nothing but problem after problem nothing but a joke

I have been trying to set up online banking with the Co-op Bank at Hanley for some weeks. It is an absolute nightmare to the point where I am getting very close to simply closing my Smart Saver account and transferring the money to another bank where I do have online banking without any trouble. Following instructions from staff I enter details to open my online access to my account only to be asked for a six digit code no one has provided to me. So I return to the Bank where a very helpful member of staff tells me how I should proceed to set up the access using my computer by sending an e mail to me with a one off start code that will allow me to set up the online access. Having returned home no e mail arrives so a dead end again. Try telephoning Co-op Bank and told there is a minimum 15 minute wait to speak to someone so I abandon that idea. Having spent months with several visits to the Bank to get my account Smart Saver Card to allow me to access machines without success I cannot accept this Bank is offering anywhere near a reasonable standard to customer service when every time I have a problem I need to travel several miles into the city centre to visit the bank in person in an attempt to resolve issues. In fifty years of banking I have never experienced such terrible service. The only reason I keep my account with the Co-op Bank is to support the idea of "ethical" banking but I am coming to the conclusion the price of atrocious service and all the uncertainty and anxiety about what is happening with the money in an account I can't access is simply not worth it !

Have tried to phone the Hanley branch on the 0345 number and also the branch telephone number, for almost an hour, no answer on either number. Absolutely shocking customer service. The staff are friendly enough in branch perhaps this should be relayed to the staff answering the telephones
