Absolutely shocking service! Waitress got the order wrong. Human error is fine but she did not apologise. Even if she was adamant she had placed the order correctly she still should have apologised. Terrible customer service through and through. It was, of course, my 5 year old daughter's fault. Apparently she had not been decisive enough. She was simply unclear over the difference between fries and chips. She is 5 after all. Once the difference had been made clear she made her choice but this was not noted correctly. Shifting the blame to the customer is not at all acceptable. Chef made an appearance and complained about changing the item even though i said it was fine once the incorrect order had been delivered to the table and to leave it. On returning with the correct order she engaged directly with my 5 year old (not at all acceptable) and said that if she made a mistake when ordering in future then the meal would not be replaced. The tone was abhorrent. No stranger should tell my child off, in a cold and threatening tone, especially when it is not my child that has made the mistake. Understandably i replied with there won't be a next time. No 'customer is always right' in this establishment. The customer is always wrong, clearly. Absolutely disgusting service, customer relations and manner. Shameful behaviour and not at all professional. Avoid at all costs!

Me and my Wife popped in for some lunch. Friendly Staff as always and very well used but cumfy feeling pub. If you want proper home cooked Pub Grub then this is the place to go! We had the lasagne following the mixed combo. Both so filling and lovely. You must try their curry sauce! Best we have ever tasted and compliments the homemade chips top notch. You can order it seperately to accompany any dish if you ask when ordering. Jackie the Landlady cooks the food herself which always ensures that it is cooked to perfection. Not sure why the last review was so negative as in over 20 years ive never had a bad meal here. Can't speak for the Sunday dinner as never tried it but can honestly say it is always rammed when we have visited. Can not recommend enough ?

Fabulous experience for whole family. Lodges are very comfortable, snack hamper on arrival and a bag of rustic bread delivered during day - viewing point by each lodge are great to capture all the animals.

Stayed in the Rhino lodge for 1 night. Positives: The lodge itself looked amazing and saw the white Rhino all evening which was great. Other animals around in the day too.. giraffes, zebras, deers, all wondering outside the rhino lodges. Very relaxing evening had by all. Cctv of outside.other animal lodges so we had a live view 9n red pandas, elephants, giraffes, lions etc too. Negatives: We didnt have a room key given to us, just a code to the gate, which everyone in every lodge had the same code? When we left the lodge to go for a walk we had to leave the lodge unlocked, which I nervous about doing. The food wasnt the best, we had to microwave our dinners, breakfast was the worst. For the price we expected better quality. The robes were extremely worn and creased and had holes in them, so we didnt make use of these. The cleanliness wasnt the best either, again for the cost of our stay i found it disapointing that the bin lid still had food around it from previous lodgers and it was broken. The bath at the end of the bed looked amazing but again.. dust in the bottom and even strands of hair in the bottom, from a previous visitor. There were also black marks all in the bath, but this came off by wiping with a tissue. mould/limescale around the taps on the bathroom sink and dust on the spindles of the spiral stair case. We would definately stay again in the rhino lodge, but hopefully it would be a much cleaner room. All in all, I would rate this a 4* but if the food was better and the room was cleaner it would definately be a 5*

We stayed in the tiger lodge - with hot tub. The stay was incredible, we got to see the tiger a good few times and he even came to see us when we were in the hot tub! The beds were comfy, the space was great and the lodge was clean. We?ve even booked again for next year. I highly recommend. The Safari is also incredible, being able to be so close to the lions and having the option to feed the giraffes. We loved every second. The rides were an added bonus for the girls and they were buzzing with how much we got to see the tiger in our lodge.

Such an amazing trip. Accommodation stunning. Red pandas very active and great watching them from our cottage. Every room looked over and into their run. Food exceptional, loved the wee jars. Theme park great choice of rides and the safari park is exceptionally well laid out. Loved driving round and being able to feed some of the animals too.

We stayed as a family with grandchildren at the Safari Park staying in the Tiger Lodge. The signage on arrival wasn't very clear as to where you parked if you were staying in a lodge we had to ask a couple of times. Check in was very pleasant. We left our luggage with reception which they took to the lodge. We then went in our cars to do the Safari. This was fantastic seeing the animals up close and being able to feed them. The giraffes were my favourite (and most other peoples) as we were in a traffic queue for quite sometime near the end of the safari. When we arrived at the lodge we were really impressed. the lodge itself was spacious and very in keeping with a safari theme. The bathrooms were large very well designed with great showers and the most delightful toiletries. Lovely bathrobes and slippers and fluffy towels are provided. The food was left in the fridge for us, dinner especially was amazing (don't ask me how they can make a meal in a jar taste delicious) but they do. All three courses. The breakfasts were delivered the next morning and it was equally impressive. The lodges also provide a welcome basket which included milk, bottled water, bananas, oranges, crisps, biscuits and sweets for the children. There is also tea. coffee and hot chocolate for your use. We were so pleased that the tiger came walking by our large windows quite a lot. I was worried that we may not see him. He walks so close to the large windows that it is something I will never forget, an unbelievable experience. He was also prowling at 4.30am which was an eery feeling and sight. We spent time in the park which the children loved. Staying in a lodge includes all the rides. We all had wonderful time and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at the Safari Park Lodges. The new lion lodges look amazing too. We didn't want to leave.

Not what was sold . Everything adequate but nothing special . Except the breakfast which wasn?t even adequate . Shocked that things have changed since our booking . Only one elephant . These are herd animals . This one seemed lonely and bored . Feld bad for buying in to the disneyfication of animals . The lodge was basic . You needed your own subscription to view on to to any channel . No visuals of other animals via camera links . No coffee maker. No mini bar . Parking 20 min walk away so can?t just pop and get things from it . Food was a joke . Microwave meals !! Breakfast was the worst . Was going to say like a motorway cafe but even they offer better nowadays . Did the vip trip, still waiting for our memory stick so we?ve no photos . Can only imagine the five star reviews are like the ones on Amazon ..questionable . Basically not worth the money and very disappointing. When you book something like this it?s like wanting and paying for a limo for an event and being sent a basic taxi . It does the job but you?re left feeling ripped off and frustrated.

Forget anything you?ve seen ..seemingly it?s all changed Think static caravan level . No mini bar, no coffee maker, basic furniture , basic linen, limited toiletries . Microwave food ..how can that be luxury and breakfast is like a packed lunch from the 1970s. Haven?t seen anything as bad for years. Single elephant , pacing , bored . If it was your neighbours dog you?d call the RSPCA . No communication . We arrived late for our safari slot . Except we didn?t even know we had a slot ! So not much to see as the animals had eaten and gone to lie down . Not to worry we had booked the VIP experience .. This clashes with the sea lion experience that came with the lodge so .. you miss that . Sleep .. well forget that .the boiler/air conditioner sounds like a jet engine but at least it drowns out the neighbours as you?re in a terrace of lodges . Parking .. not next to your lodge . A 20min walk up a gravel path . VIP trip . Basically you?re in a landrover jumping in and out to see the animals before they?re let out onto the paddocks . Not allowed to take photos as your guide is taking them . You?ll get your memory stick sent to you . Still waiting for ours ? And then AFTER the trip your guide will give you animal food and the brochure telling you about the animals you?ve seen . The best bit is you?ll then not be able to go around the safari as it?s closed in the afternoon .. I complained on the day and each department sends you to the other .. no one takes responsibility and no one is a manager . You can?t get through on the phone . That is a series of messages and then hangs up. More chance of getting through to a GP than talking to anyone . Still waiting for replies from my numerous emails . So thanks ..I?m in remission and booked this for a 60th birthday for my husband to gather memories. Dont risk it . They sell you a dream and you get a nightmare

Amazing experience. Lovely accommodation, good value for money and the view of the red pandas was phenomenal. Food was very nice, great idea to have it delivered to your accommodation and the areas of the zoo you could access were amazing.

I wanted to add a person to our party, and it was quite difficult to do as I could not get in contact with customer service, eventually managed to do it, but it made me apprehensive about our stay. When we arrived and booked in, the staff were very good and proficient. We stayed in an elephant lodge one night and a tiger lodge the next. When I first saw the food packed in Jars, again, I was apprehensive, but dinner and breakfast were more than edible, couldn't fault the food.

A once in a lifetime experience. We stayed in the accessible Lion Lodge, the accommodation was amazing, with wall to wall glass, the Lions came to see us throughout our stay. The staff, food, park and the lodges were incredible. You have to do this once...you will never forget it.

Awful! Worst roast dinner I?ve ever had in my life! Everything on the plate looked like it had come from a bag of frozen veg. We got 1 toast potato each, the gravy was thin and tasteless. We didn?t even stay for the kids desserts cos the food was so bad, the chips on the kids meal looked like frozen chips that had been fried, greasy and undercooked. Worst £50 we have ever spent on a family meal ever.

Stayed at the elephant lodge, first went on one of the safari minibus tours, well worth being driven around with the driver giving you the guided tour. Or you can drive around yourself. Then go to your lodge. The lodges are a great experience, we really enjoyed the experience. A big thank you to the staff from taking us and our luggage to the lodge, nothing was to much trouble for them. It's well run seeing the animals just outside your lodge is wonderful. You can also view some of the other lodge animals from special viewing areas without disturbing people who have payed to view animals from there lodge. It is expensive but in my opinion it's a one off experience, take the plunge and do it. If I had one slight grumble the food is microwave food and maybe not the best but eatable and that maybe me I'm not the greatest lover of microwave food. The next morning having stayed overnight went to the sea lion training show which is for people who have stayed in the lodges, then you can walk around the funfair with the kids and view the hippos, penguins and lemars and other attractions, or drive around and see the animals again.

Amazing time, relaxing getaway for my husband and I. Would highly recommend trying this. We were blessed with good weather which really made it. I recommend a weekday as it can get very busy. Go on the drive through safari as it opens at 10 am.
