As travelodges go this was a decent one. Clean tidy helpful staff not much more you can say. It's a budget hotel so don't expect the Ritz but decent never the lessRooms: Clean and well presented

The bed was comfortable. Yet in the day and age of all TVs having built in digital they only offered 16 channels 6 of those being radio stations. Plus the cleaners were vacuuming at 7.30 on a Sunday morning. Absolutely no phone signal and very poor

Economy hotel, 10 minute walk to centre. Room was clean and tidy - just lacking plugholes/USB in practical place.. Parking £4 for 24 hours. Checking in was a pain as there was a sign saying 'we have just popped away from reception for a moment but with a number to call if you need help with anything urgently' ....better to say, if you need to check in, please call this number. We finally called it when we had been waiting more than 20 minutes and had been joined by 4 other couples. Same sign was on the desk when we left so is obviously a regular occurrence to have an unmanned reception.

Room.was clean and no issues checking in early. My issue is with the parking fine I received in the post. I overstayed by 3 minutes and a PCN arrived through the post. Outrageous service and although managed through a 3rd party, it reflects badly on Travelodge. I had not exceeded the 10 minute grace period and the PCN was cancelled before I appealed.Walkability: Close to Stafford town centre

Stayed here Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Room okay as expected, bathroom tired something in the carpet that our dog was extremely interested in! Staff friendly. Location good with short walk to the Sun and a good pint. My main issue is with the noise. Christmas Eve main event was a drunk resident who was extremely loud and aggressive to folk I can only assume were his pals. Police arrived and he didn't pipe down until the cuffs went on and perhaps it dawned on him santa would have to drop his pressies off at the local police station. Christmas Day after 11pm guests arriving back at the hotel loudly letting the rest of the building know what an absolutely fabulous day they'd had despite the signs asking folk to be respectful to fellow guests and keeping the noise down. Felt like being on the set of Eastenders. We also booked a pet friendly room which it most certainly wasn't, our room was located near the front door at the front of the building, noisy and with loads going on not great for a dog. Rooms should be tucked away from this, although our pooch was very impressed by the automatic hoover tootling up and down the corridor and of course the unidentified spillage by the table.

We stayed for two nights just before Christmas, we had a ground floor room as my wife is disabled, the first night I had insect bites, when I got home I found a bed bug in one of my shirts that I had hung up in the bedroom, I definitely will not be returning.

I don't leave reviews. But this needs to be said. On arrival at 3, we was told that we may not be staying there. The boiler was down. If it couldn't be fixed we would be sent to another Travelodge. One of them being on the M5. This was a leisure trip. Counting cars is not my idea of fun. At 4 p.m. we still didn't have an answer, so we booked a hotel in Stafford that had a few rooms left. At 4:15 we had a call saying that we could now stay at the booked Travelodge. Too late. Head office was hard to get hold of. Their phone line was a premium number. A half hour wait ate into all my call allowance and the email address had a failed delivery message. I got through with a hand written letter in the end. Their response was disgraceful. Basically 'The room was available, you didn't use it. So TOUGH!' Shocking! This may have been cheap. But it's been a learning curve for me!Nearby activities: The Swan Hotel came to our rescue!
