Fantastic!!!!! We spent 3 days in Stafford and we had lunch there every day. Cozy, friendly, spacious, with different settings and keeping that old style image. You will see personnel everywhere making sure you are ok and checking on you at all times. Varied menu, and whatever you choose will be delicious. If you happen to be in Stafford, don't.miss this place

Have just returned home from having lunch at Soup kitchen. Service as ever, fantastic, second to none.
My waitress advised I had the "special" today, toad in the hole.
I have never had such a bad meal. The sausages had been so badly burnt there was no sausage inside only the burnt outer. This was covered by the gravy.
When I went to eat it it tasted as if a tablespoon of sugar had been added to the gravy. On reflection, I couldn't taste any of the salt I put on, yes deffonused the salt cellar but think someone may have filled it with castor sugar. Oh well it is Friday 13th but I do feel mighty sick at present.
Definitely something wrong today.
I'm sorry I hate to leave bad feedback you are a lovely team of people and my family and I always enjoy our visit but today.........

Was welcomed and seated quickly, but then ignored/forgotten for over 15 min until asked another server... who couldn't serve us. When the third one came, he was helpful and took our order.
Lovely interior and lots of character along with the seating. Food was very good and hot.

First time here today and already one of my favourite places ever! The food was absolutely lovely and very reasonably priced, the service was spot on and the place is like stepping back in time. Amazing.

Lovely soup but a very small portion and not that hot either plus a cold bread roll. ? Need to get better soup bowls, and warm crusty rolls. I was so hungry after that I had to stop at the M6 services to buy a meal!!

Had lunch with my 10 yr old. Kids menu had plenty of choices and both meals were good value for money. The food was delicious, and the service was quick. Waitress noticed my boy was stealing some fruit off my dessert, and within seconds, she had a little bowl of blueberries for him. It's these little thoughtful touches that make us return again and again.

Parking: No dedicated parking
Kid-friendliness: Children treated as special guests and staff go out of their way to accommodate them
Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult due to the nature of the building but staff will go out of their way to facilitate wheelchair users
