Popped in today and we were warmly greeted. Ordered Ham and Cheese cobs and chips. They were delicious. Lovely atmosphere. What really made this place so special were the amazing staff. Can't wait to return.

Very friendly and helpful. Quick spot and 2 pints and 2 fresh rolls only £13, lovely too. Recommend the ale BFG, very tasty.

We were recommended this pub by local folks. Booked for Sunday Carvery
Greeted pleasantly at the door and shown to our table.
Nice to see such a wide variety of local ales available.
We chose a couple of Black Country Ales which were divine.
From the carvery we both had beef which was so deliciously cooked, melt in your mouth stuff.
Staff were extremely gracious and nice, especially the guys behind the bar.
Nice clean beer garden and an altogether warm atmosphere.

We arrived just before 1600hrs yesterday to be told they normally close the kitchen at 1600hrs on a Saturday but closed an hour earlier because of the extreme heat.
While we could understand them closing early because of the heat as I've worked in kitchens but we couldn't see kitchen closing at 1600hrs advertised anywhere other than the billboard outside referencing Sunday's.
The service was friendly enough as was the slightly sozzled guy sat at the bar, the drinks were priced reasonably and cold. The tables were clean and the premises well presented.

Such a friendly pub!
Food was really good, above average pub selections. Had the lasagna and the Mexican burger. Plenty of food for the price point. Large selection of beers and ciders. Clearly a local favorite.

Nice pub with a good selection of beers. We arrived too late to try the food but spotted that they have a selection of big bar snacks available like cobs, gala pie slices and gourmet sausage rolls.
There seems to be a strong connection to the British Legion and veterans, which impacts the decor in the front bar, which is interesting.

This unassuming public house sells some of the best real ale in Stafford town centre. The service is always prompt, the food wholesome and unfussy, just as it should be in a real pub.

A really pleasant surprise. Friendly, cheerful and welcoming staff making for a pleasant atmosphere and warm welcome.
The feel of the place is pleasant, clean and tidy.
The carvery lunch was very nice and very generous with the meat. Lovely cauliflower cheese that had real cheese and not just a flavoured sauce and wasn't brick hard but cooked nicely. Potatoes nicely done also. Maybe fresh carrots would be even better too, given they use fresh veg for other choices.
Very busy and seems popular for a mature crowd on Sunday lunch suggesting sufficient quality and value for money .
In the week, I have seen the beer garden full and lively with younger clients
Apparently dog friendly, but am very glad to say no dogs in when I was as I probably wouldn't have stayed.
I shall definitely return here when I visit Stafford as was very pleased with my experience here.

One of the few places that actually serve hot food, will say that the bar tender said chicken was an option for the Carvery but when we got there it wasn't.
